Better road designs can reduce driver confusion and increase safe traffic flow. As TV continues to grow, greater stress will be placed on the current road system designed many years ago.

In jest yet food for thought ->

CB - I honestly think that is likely true for most of us. I learned how to drive in Boston (no cracks please) and doubt I would enjoy trying that at my current age. My wife just returned from visiting her mother and said the traffic is worse than ever.

Default Accident

This would certainly be the utopia of all retirement communities, no accidents, no crimes, no owi's, if it weren't for us snowbirds ruining everything.

annoyance might be the better word, and that only speaks to the entitlement that full time residents display, thinking the roads are only for them. a little traffic, my god you would think that it is the end of the world.

The topic is the accident on 466A/Morse .... road design, driver behavior.

Let's not turn this into an anti-snowbird Rant.

Thank you,

Agree.

The OP was just trying to start a food-fight about snowbirds. Most did not fall for it.

My OP was not aimed @ snowbirds- its intent with a bit sf sarcasm, was meant to make people aware of what can & is happening when the villages population increases.

This new road pattern would certainly help this issue. Might be a little expensive, but...

Re this topic - one of my little pet peeves is, being behind a few cars making a left turn, the green left arrow goes out but the green light is on - a car ahead stops at the line, does not enter the intersection at all and the light turns yellow then red.

So, when 2-3 cars could have gone thru when the light turns yellow, nope. Proper etiquette and traffic law is that a car(s) can enter the intersection and wait until a safe opening occurs to make your left or wait to the yellow/red and the oncoming traffic stops.

Thank you for the clarification, I was assuming (stupid me) that it was a left turn accident. I make right turns on red at that intersection all the time, and I STOP look left and ahead to make sure that no one is coming, double check to the right, then center and left and make my turn. There are a lot of people that just cruise right through the RED light while making a right turn.

A prime example of this is the intersection of Rolling Acres and 466. Those turning onto 466 west hardly ever stop at the red light before making their right turn onto 466.

So right, Mikeod! Hubs and I are two drivers who do make a full stop at the light BECAUSE of the accidents we have seen there. And every time I get there I find I tense up in preparation for rear impact! That intersection and a couple of others make me think we should put a target on the back of the car!
