Sorry, I don't believe there is a problem.

Not to get off topic - which I am - but on other threads (poop threads) and here there are some people complaining about "too many dogs!" I don't understand - you all knew that this is a dog friendly community. If you don't like dogs then why did you move here?

Sorry - just had to.

The powers that be who make the ultimate decisions about stuff like this and all stuff are the developers. This is NOT a democracy... This is a CDD form of government and you can make petitions and gather in groups and discuss and throw your tea bags in Lake Sumter and this is how it is gonna be. I would guess that welcoming pets makes this place a more desirable place to live for more people, since the Morse's seem to be able to evaluate the demographics of the potential market very well and there is NOTHING wrong with that.

If you want to vote on something, or change something, you need to seek a place that is NOT a CDD. I am pretty much satisfied with things here for the price and given all alternatives. No place is perfect.

Just sayin'. That is how this place is run.

I think it's because their "PICKER" is broken.

There are a lot of dogs in TV because residents get a lot of enjoyment out of having pets. And Deed Restrictions in most Villages allow two dogs per household. I don't understand what you don't understand.

Back to Connie's problem, why not do as Patty55 suggests and knock on their door and tell them their dog is driving you nuts? Or if you feel too shy to make face-to-face contact, why not leave them a polite note on their door suggesting their dog sounds distressed about being left outdoors all day. And could they please consider a Doggie Daycare alternative or some other solution when they're away all day, because barking dogs interfere with neighbors' quiet enjoyment of their properties.

They may leave to dog out when they leave the house. May not even know it is barking all day. May want to stop by and just notify them about what is happening. I would also be concerned that the homeowners are OK.

If nothing fails, try this. I had to at one point. Ask them if they like getting up at 5a.m.? why? because that when I am going to blare my ghetto blaster at your house. Had no problem after that.

Nicely said, a compassionate solution. If you come from a place of concern, the homeowners will be more open to your comments.

Had this problem with two of a neighbors dogs. They let the dogs out for extended periods in their invisible fence controlled yard and the dogs just barked away constantly. Sent an email advising them of the concern. They responded and advised they had two new dogs and aware of problem and working on it.

When nothing changed I referenced the Marion County nuisance animal ordinance. It states pets can be considered as "nuisance animals" if they bark more than 15 minutes at a time and it can be heard on adjoining lots. It would warrant a visit from animal control. That was the end of the barking.

I see Sumter County has similar wording in their codes. Here's a link. Not sure of Lake but if you live there check that also.

On the link, click on Chapter 4 Animal Control. Then see 4.7 entitled "Public Nuisance Animals".

I don't understand your post. No one said they come first. It's only been stated that this is a pet friendly community. If this were not a pet friendly community, a whole lot of folks would never have moved here, including me.

Your salesperson didn't tell you this? He/She also probably neglected to tell you about all the sinkholes and the IRS investigation.
