Default Strange request?

Mrs. Ugotme & I are considering having solar tube(s) installed to brighten up our house.

We would really like to see the effects these have in person. We are in a cottage home - an Anchor - but would just like your opinions and possible "peek" at how they work (so to speak).

I realize this is not your normal request. NO, we are not serial killers or thieves.
We are not weirdos - well Mrs. U isn't anyway, and perhaps Gracie can vouch for us (how much do you want GG?).

Okay, that's it - just figured no harm in asking!

Thank you one and all.

Can you tell me about how much you should expect to pay for solar tubes?

I think he is looking for people who would be willing to let him see their solar tubes

There are a number of different brands (with different features and component parts). Each brand may offer a variety of different circumferences and a myriad of different kinds of ceiling lenses. Each lens gives different effects.

Where you place them in the ceiling, as in- a flat portion of ceiling or a slanted portion will affect the light as well, and so will the paint color of the walls.
The way the house is situated upon the lot will have an effect too, so seeing them in someone's home will give you a general idea, but not an exact one.

We have them. We looked at three different companies that install in TV and decided upon Solar Lights and More.
We went to their office/showroom- which is illuminated by their own solar light tubes. We liked seeing that for ourselves.

I would suggest using a real company and not an independent. We know of a couple that used an independent fellow- and although the light tubes were soundly installed, they provided very dim light.
When they saw ours, they realized something was wrong.

They had their fellow come back to remove them and got a refund- and they hired Solar Lights and More to co-ordinate replacement immediately afterward.
It turned out their independent installer forgot to remove (or was unfamiliar with) the protective, transparent blue plastic sheeting inside the tube.

We have two in our home. One in the master bath and one in the kitchen area over the sink. Love them! When we first had them installed, we would go continually to make sure we had the light off in the MB. The one in the kitchen is so handy. During the daylight hours, no overhead lights are really needed. Plus that natural daylight is cast out over a large radius.
Best investment we have made.

I had mine installed a few years ago. I love them. Two 10" in the bathrooms and one 13" in the kitchen. Cost was about $1,000 for the three solar lights.
If you are thinking of doing it, they have coupon good for $150 off until 2/28/14
Here's a link to the website with pictures and coupon.

I was looking at an open house that had them and I can't remember were it was, but maybe if you look at the villages open houses on the net and filter by preowned and then check the special features you might stumble on it and could see that way. If I figure out which one it was I will PM you.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Once again, the folks of TOTV have come through and helped.

There was quite a response, both on here and privately, for offers to come see this product.

Mrs. U and I have taken some kind folks up on their offer and saw what a difference these tubes make.

Just like to thank everyone for responding and offering their homes to us.

What a crowd, What a crowd!

Default Solar lights

Depending on where you have the solar light installed, we put it in our kitchen, check out the addition of a light kit. Then you can use the solar light at night. The 2 led lights in the tube cost about $4 a year to use.
