We use Cricket Wireless. Great service. Great price which includes all taxes. No contract!

SmartTalk using Verizon from Walmart is a pretty good deal. You just have to supply your own phone. I've found Sprint to be completely worthless here.

I use Virgin Mobile. One of the best values around. Been using them for about 7 years. I think they partner with Sprint. I'm north of 466 and service is always good.

You are absolutely correct ! Most cell providers share other towers and pay a price for it. I have always had problems in most of the rentals we are at. PROBLEM is that there are not enough towers in the area. I would hope that Verizon/AT & T would get out and check there signals from different areas in The Villages and see that the signal is bad !!! It would definitely help if you called your provider and complained... I believe you can make a complaint to your state utility board also.(ONLINE) ...Good LUCK !

The state of telecommunication is mad mad mad i tell you. People are paying so muc for what once served our basic needs.
I went to a smartphone because the providers were forcing you to them. I only need a phone and i only need it outside for an emergency. Same with TV so many useless channels so much more for movies and they still upcharge buy renting the latest releases when my contract is up with Verizon i going back to simply a phone |

It depends on where you will be living. If you are south of 446a/44 then you may have problems with Verizon as it appears they don't have enough towers to support the users beyond that point. Some will get additional coverage thru a tower being installed on Turtle Mound but that should only include about a 1 mile radius. There are plans to do some additional work in 2016 but the service may poor/lacking between now and 2016 and then there is no indications as to how far that coverage will go.

In some areas where the AT&T coverage is spotty, they will provide you with a Micro-cell box. This box creates a cellular zone in your home and routes the calls through the internet via your broadband router. You simply plug into a cat5 port on your router and you will have 5 bars. I have one and it works well. I believe this is a stopgap since most phones will eventually have the capability to use Wi-FI directly. I believe iphone6s can do this now with T-Mobile.
