Default Webcam

I've seen references to webcams around the Villages and went a-Googling but haven't found them.

Could you provide a link to local webcams, pls?

Thanx

Yes, blue skys and beautiful. To set the webcam, go to thevillages.com, click on lifestyles, click on Spanish Springs Town Square or Lake Sumter Landing Town Square. When that appears look just below the picture of the couple dancing and notice "view webcam of LSL" Click on that and you will be on the webcam.

Good luck and Happy Memorial day to all veterans.

MGM, me too, I looked at it all day until I moved here. Now, I never look at the webcam, there's no time!!! Wait till you get here.

Yes, the sky is so blue and the sun feels wonderful. Good day to go out and enjoy all the activities. Threatening to rain this afternoon but so far so good.

Happy Memorial Day everyone. God Bless our Troops and keep them safe.

Here is the link for the Spanish Springs cam.

http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_ss.asp

They move the SS cam around a bit to give different views which I think is great but swing it back to the normal view in the evenings. I just wish they would use the street angle when they have the monthly cruise in's.

If you look at the SS cam around lunch time (12:00 to 12:30 EDT or a little later) you may catch one of the techs playing around with the joy stick and the zoom. The one day I was watching the tech was on babe patrol. I had a couple of other guy at work check it out and they all though it was real cool. If this was going to be a regular thing I know I could get are entire department to have lunch at their desks and watch the babe patrol.

On the wish list would be for the web cams to be set up for user control for so many minutes. This would allow anyone to point, zoom and tilt the camera for a few minutes. A great way to see the rest of the squares and get a true feel of TV.

By the way the cameras that TV are using are Axis 213 PTZ network cams and go for about $1500.00 less options.

Has anyone else noticed how unreliable the Spanish Spring web cam has been for about a month? It has been off more than it's been on. Seems to be on only during the evenings and nights.

Champ6 the SS camera has NOT been down for a long time. What you are seeing during the day is the camera being pointed in different directions. One day last week during the rain it was pointed at the sidewalk across the street. Other than that it has been alive and well just not pointed at the square. I check out both cams 20 or 30 times a day from work just to see what is going on. I do enjoy the different angles of the SS cam and if you happen to catch it when a tech is playing around you will be hooked.

One thing I would like to watch is TV putting up the tent at LSL. They must have that down to a science as one day I checked the cam and it was not there and I came back 2 hours later it was complete.

TD,

Here's hoping that you have this beautiful weather to greet you - but you know, even when it was raining last week, it was still "a beautiful day in The Villages."

Safe travels.
