My home was built in 08 when things were blowing and going and they couldn't build them fast enough. Suffered the result of that today when the hose bib broke loose at the connection because it was not glued properly at the connection. Unfortunately it took a day to notice the leak which resulted in the water backing up into the bedroom wall and saturating the carpet and pad overnight.
The plumber showed us where the contractor had failed to properly seal the connection and over time as we used the hose it broke loose. Hope this is the only repair I have to face due to shoddy workmanship. |

Sorry to hear about that. Do you have any recourse with the plumber or is this all on your or your insurance? Hope you don't find any other damage... :>(

Past the warranty time and insurance deductible too high to claim and risk having an increase there. It wasn't a terribly expensive fix, but frightening because it happened because someone didn't do their job right. Makes me wonder what other suprises might be ahead.

I watched them install my irrigation pipes. Not once did they use the cleaner on the pipe and fittings before gluing the PVC. They had it in their tool pack, just did not use it. Builder's answer was it "won"t leak".

Our CYV is 15 months old. Our next door neighbor who purchased their CYV at the same time and haven't retired yet, returned last month only to find their master BR and bath both flooded with water. Upon further review they had a leak in their foundation. The TV told them it was covered for two years and immediately sent in a crew to rip out all the damaged carpeting, dry wall, cabinets, etc. Within two weeks they had everything replaced and repaired. Unfortunately they were only here for a couple of weeks on that trip and spent all of their time involved with this project and have since returned to Connecticut because they both still work.
