Each of the Squares has its own charms.
Barnwood is a great movie theatre (such comfy seats), and LSL is second.
I think that Rialto in SS gets the best movies as an enticement for people to attend that theatre which doesn't have "bleacher-type" seating.

Brownwood in in the wrong place. It's 3 miles from SS to LSL and eight miles from LSL to Brownwood. Why did they build a town square at the very edge of the development? It seems to me that it should have been built half way between LSL and Rte 44. That way people from both sides would go there.
Some where around 466A and halfway between Morse and Buena Vista would have been a much better location.

Is it possible that Brownwood is at the halfway point but the other side has not been built yet? It seems that a mistake of that proportion has never happened before. Everything seems to be planned out well.

Some people think that that might be the case. I certainly don't know. Some people are also of the opinion that Brownwood was not built for The Villages but rather for the residents of Wildwood.

I came to tbe conclusion a long time ago that there are Walmart snobs and there are Brownwood snobs. The more the merrier or should it be the less tbe merrier.

I'm not a Brownwood snob, just don't like it. No water, no trees, town square not pretty.

When we were there we loved the Tapas restaurant in Brownwood. I thought the bleachers were a cool idea, and didn't seem to limit dancing at all. What I was really disappointed about was the only morning espresso I could find was at Dunkin Donuts. The line for coffee was nuts. I'd love to see another espresso place, like Starbucks or Peets there.

Do you really think the Developer would build a Town Square on the edge of The Villages?

The Developer marketed the heck out of LSL -- political rallies; beginning/ending points for races, bicycle events, etc.; market nights ... all of which still occur there. SS has the car shows and market nights. Both of these squares have the parades. BW has very little in the way of events other than the farmer's market. They really do need more events at BW to entice people to go there.

Given that Wildwood forced the Developer to give it many benefits in order to build down there, I wouldn't be surprised if building a town square that far south and close to Wildwood wasn't in one of the contracts. A much better location would have been in the Fruitland Park area or closer to the strip mall where Winn-Dixie is.
