I hear so many worries about these "outsiders" coming to the squares and it made me think; tonight we Villagers were good neighbors encouraging families to come. I was very proud of the venue we provided. Perhaps we need to be good neighbors more often and the "outsiders" will reciprocate by being good neighbors to us Villagers.
There are many folks here from outside the Villages. Glad they too love our hometown.

Great post. Nicely articulated, especially the pride of hosting a family event. Miss seeing kids, as we have no grandchildren yet. Great event.

None yet. Gosh. Ours very quickly became adults and now are about to support us.

It was ONLY about two weeks ago that they were walking around in an astronaut and princess costume. THEY STILL love to dress up and return to Ohio University campus where there must be one of the biggest Halloween celebrations in the WORLD.

I think Halloween is such fun. There must be a costume gene.

Or maybe I just should have said it was a great event and we loved it.
perrjojo,

Your initial post was quite clear and well-written. You don't need a creative writing course, but some of the posters on the forum could benefit from a "creative reading" course. (Unfortunately, I've never heard of one). Why are some people on the forum constantly looking for negativity. Your post was neither negative nor derogatory towards our neighbors beyond The Villages boundaries.

I've been reading this forum for about 3 years now. I've posted just a few times mainly because I have experienced what you just did. It's no fun. Bogie Shooter and others seem to be waiting to pounce all over every post. America's Friendliest Hometown? I think it is, but you wouldn't know it from this forum.

Not true.

Bogie is a good person. He just doesn't have patience for some stuff.

And he is mostly right.

I think he is ..................................

...well. maybe a member of the clergy?

Maybe not.
