I met a woman in line at the Church on the Square one day last Christmas waiting to see the Bell Chords. She said she lived in Wildwood. We talked for a few minutes and she said she was born and raised there and still lives on the farm that belonged to her family for generations. According to her, the buffalo now live near her property in Wildwood. |

You are very right about the courtesy and manners in Wildwood. They really make you feel glad you have come to their town. There is a great Mexican restaurant there, called Azteca. It is family run and only opened a few months. A couple of Saturdays ago my neighbors all went together and we had about 25 people there and I know they were appreciative of the business. Many said it was they best Mexican food they had had in a while.
Someone recently left their family home to the city of Wildwood, valued at $300,000. I read in the paper that they want to make it into a museum or art/history museum for the town, and I think it would be great! I agree there is a lot of history in the town. Another fun thing there is the Saturday morning produce market at the square. 9-1. Produce is good, prices even better and the people are so genuine and nice. |

Unreal! I guess the author does not realize that most of "The Villages" IS IN WILDWOOD!!!! We the residents of Wildwood, have dealt with the intrusion all this time, yet some of you just cannot recognize that you too are residents of Wildwood. There are places that only Villages residents can go........golf courses, clubs, etc. but the locals say nothing. Give them respect, you invaded their quiet little town.. 7 years ago, the Wildwood permanent residency was on 3900 people. (aprox) Now some of you don't want them in the stores, restaurants, or even driving down 466 or any of the ridiculous round abouts- (Who's dumb idea was that anyway?) Keep in mind, there are people here that were born, raised and will die here. This is their town. Don't insult them any further than you have. Next time the vote may not go the way Morse (the crimnal) wants it to. Also remember, the city of Wildwood did not want this, they were sold out by Sumter County. Appreciate what the true residents of Wildwood have had to put up with all these years. Or you can.........well......get over yourself and leave.

I can certainly understand some of what "notsocranky" is saying, but how many folks that live in Wildwood remained gainfully employed because of TV during this economic crises? I think it goes both ways - we benefit from the workforce they provide and they benefit from the jobs available and the shopping and restaurants they helped build.

Lets see, Wildwood 3900 residents, TV 80000 residents, and you think TV is part of Wildwood? Better to be just one big happy family with a common interest in keeping both communities as nice as they are now.

The statement by notsocranky about only residents of TV being able to play golf here isn't true. I have to agree with @Indydealmaker on this one.
