Nothing to do with politics, the shortages are world wide, due to reduced production over past year.
Just the same problems in UK and Europe.
Building material waits are being measured in months, not days.

I agree all the people that worked so hard to develop the vaccine. However, where was the plan to get it into peoples arms?

Seeing that the vaccine was magically “approved and ready” almost immediately after November 4th, I’d say you have to ask #46. It has been interesting to hear a few months ago, some physicians take on the distribution of these vaccines and the inequities and shenanigans that occurred this year.

As the pandemic crushed the US economy last spring, sawmills shut down lumber production to brace for a housing slump. The slump never arrived and now there isn't enough lumber to feed the red-hot housing market.

Plus an increase from 9% to 24% tariff on lumber coming from Canada in 2017 did not help.

Why lumber prices are so high and what it means for home building costs - CNN

It’s called inflation. It’s what happens when you print trillions of dollars you don’t have.

Have to laugh when capitalism dictates prices, through supply and demand, and some people want to blame politics. Here's an elementary lesson. Last year we were in lockdown, basically, and not much business was being conducted ohr than on-line. Low demand, low prices. Housing starts Jan-Apr 2021 is roughly 32% higher in 2021 as opposed to 2020.

One national builder out of AZ is quoted as saying, "new orders of 283 as compared to 132 in the 2020 first quarter, a 114% increase.

Supply and demand works very well when both sides are on an even playing field. But when the field becomes lopsided as in a monopoly a few have too much power and can manipulate either supply or demand.

Pay attention near video end of who gets hurt the worse by inflation.

Are you, or Wolff talking about quantitative easing, which btw, the last two Presidents used, and yet the GDP never got over 2.9% for either one of them? I'm sure there are businesses that jack up prices to make up for last year. I refuse to support those businesses, as we all took a hit, except for the billionaires, who actually made more billions from the pandemic. Too much money in the hands of the few creates an Oligarchy, which we now have.

Just drove to TV from St. Augustine and can not tell you how many trucks carrying pine trees on the road. Bet they are not complaining and I am sure they did not vote for the current president. They are laughing all of the way to the bank.

I bought lumber at Home Depot the past two days. I would say it is up here about 40%, not 400%. I expect it to drop by the end of the year.
