jblum: I understand and agree with that issue. all I am saying is that 99.99999999999 people atttending events at the squares are being punished for the other 00.00000000001. I's just saying

I suppose it could be worse. In Denmark your DUI at .02. So most of those folks walk to their local pubs

Reasonable question. Checked his statistics and he/she has not posted anywhere on this site since he/she initiated this thread. Seems normal protocol is absent.

How about medications, senior moments, stupidity, inconsiderations, bullying behavior, distractions, cell phones, texting etc. etc.

I know this has been posted to death but I still think there is in Paul Harvey's words "the rest of the story".

The recent ticketing incident for enjoying a coctail while sitting in a golf cart in LSL was the first item addressed by Janet Tutt at last evening's POA meeting. Janet said expect to see heightened enforcement of the open container law throughout TV, including tail-gate parties at the Polo Field. She went on to explain that the liquor licenses for the kiosk's in the squares allow people to walk throughout the downtown area (outside the square) with a drink but you cannot sit in a vehicle, including a lawn mower, with a drink. She also said police would enforce the open container violations (but not speed enforcement) on TV's multi-modal paths. Janet also said liquor licenses for the restaurants in the Square, unlike the kiosks, do not permit patrons to leave the establishment with a drink. If the beverage is in a cup holder, the person in the driver's seat is ticketed unless the passenger is holding the cup. The fine is $116, if I remember correctly. Getting back to the Polo field, she suggested setting up a chair or table next to the golf cart and mixing the drinks there rather than on the golf cart. Seems like a crazy distinction but that's the law here now.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. With regards to the golf cart at Polo field or square, your last line above sums it up perfectly for me. I guess I will buy a chair for my cart .

Thank you for posting a clear explanation of what is allowed and not allowed.
