Default Golf cart accident

Looks like another roll over golf cart accident this morning on Avenida central and Alvarez ave near the fiesta bowl. Coming back from the bank and traffic was being rerouted. The cart was flipped over onto Avenida central. I hope the person or people the were in the cart are ok. Anyone else see it? It was about 9:15

That is a very bad intersection,I have seen alot of small accidents there in the past and I don't think golf carts belong at that intersection, on Avenida Central.

My husband saw it too. He said he watched the ambulance transport one and there was another person stretched out on the curb. God bless them. I hope they are okay.

Could you ask hubs if it was rolled over onto it's roof or just tipped over onto it's side.

Yeah saw it, one golf cart over on its side and another up against it. I thought maybe one had took the intersection to fast and the other ran into it and pushed it after it rolled? I was headed from publix to target. Cops were on seen. Community watch directing traffic and then when I came out of Target I heard a lot of sirens headed that way. I was thinking that seemed like slow medical response Hope there wasnt anything else.

He said it was over on the side. Not on the roof.

Sorry about saying flipped. But when i went by they were standing around the cart and putting the front window up and I just assumed that it landed on the top and they were just tipping it back upright. Didn't want to stop and stare.

Gerryann hope not either. Considering I was in target a good ten minutes before I heard sirens I'm thinking not. Maybe just taking someone as a precaution. Its is a crappy intersection but not sure if that played any part in what happened. Yeah the one cart was on its right side and the other cart was up against its undercarriage when I went through. I try not to be a looky loo...was waiting to be directed through the intersection.

Sorry to hear of the mishap but not surprised. More and more golf cart drivers are seen to be out of control. The biggest infraction is running I mean RUNNING stop signs and assuming others will stop. An example........Stopped at intersection (2 lane street- no turn lane) in my auto intending and signalling to turn right and what zooms by me on the left never stopping (crossing center of street by stop line). You guessed it a golf cart with clubs late for a t-time with a death wish I presume. As I said, signs and lights are meaningless and this can't be blamed on "snow birds"....What in the heck is the hurry and why the lack of common sense and courtesy becoming more prevalent here in "Florida's Friendliest Home town".

There I feel much better now........

Default Time for Seat-belts

Every time I read a posting about another golf cart accident I am more inclined to install seat belts in our cart. One can be a careful driver but you just NEVER know what the other guy is going to do - and there is no protection at all (unless you have doors) in a golf cart. Looks like one of the first things we will do when we return in Oct.

Hope the people involved in this one are OK.

It said in this morning's paper that one was airlifted to a hospital in Orlando, and the other was taken to a hospital in Gainesville, which usually means serious injuries. I hope that they will be o.k. too.

Always sorry to hear of injured people from accidents.

However, it is obvious in this one that there was a lack of attention on both parties. I have been across that intersection dozens of times. It is kind of dangerous but just LOOK AROUND and there is not problem.
