Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
Has anyone had any experience buying matching materials used by TV in their construction for improvements to your house after you moved in? We are having a Lantana built and the laundry room, which is right next to the kitchen, does not have any cabinets in it. I would like to get the same brand and color cabinets as used in the kitchen to do this. Likewise, I may want to put tile in the lanai that matches the tile in the house. Does TV use materials that are generally available to the public in retail outlets in the area or do they have some kind of bulk deal with suppliers that have products exclusively for TV? If the latter, can you order things like cabinets and tile from TV?

Re: Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
NJblue I don't know if you bought a new or pre but contact your agent and ask them exactly what you want. They can get the info from the builder and relay or put you in direct contact with him. Of course you'll need your unit & lot number.
We did this for our tile. We asked our agent who it was that installed the carpet & tile and got the same company, the original installers, and contracted with them. GO BUCKS ;D |

Re: Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
Bailey's Industries (based in Leesburg) has a showroom on 441 across from Lowe's (where Albertson's is). They have done most of the kitchens in the entire TV and will probably have your plans in their system. They do additional cabinetry. Their no. is 751-4215

Re: Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
Wow. This forum is so great for information. We have the Camellia and it has upper cabinets that are all the same size. We would like to replace some of them with taller ones and ones with glass doors to make a more interesting look. Now we know where to go.
Thanks once again my new friends!

Re: Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
I have had the occasion to get info as to who did what and always found the warranty department a fund of information.
I was going to add some cabinets and found Bailey a bit pricey. As it was laundry room I didn't need a perfect match so I did just fine at Lowes, (or was it Home Depot?). DC |

Re: Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
Blue - We created an office in our Lantana laundry area and wanted a perfect match since we also wanted to use the area as an extension of the kitchen when entertaining.
We dealt with Beth Beauchamp at Bailey Industries (as noted earlier at their retail location near Albertson's, soon to be Publix) and she designed what we wanted. They'll have all the detail on you home - just give her your lot and block number. We matched the cabinets and counter/desk tops. We've also had good fortune dealing with TV recognized companies, including Anthony Torri Plumbing and Florida Pool & Spa / T&D Concrete. Go State! |

Re: Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
We bought a resale Courtyard Villa which had changed hands a couple of times. The Villages Warranty Department was able to tell us the color, manufacturer and number of the paint originally used to paint the interior and exterior of the Villa in 2004. They also told us the cabinet manufacturer and counter top information. Their records are fabulous.

Our builder, during the closing walkthrough, said the Warranty Dept. can give any info on subcontractors.

Re: Buying materials used by TV for aftermarket additions
Mallory were your countertops... Corian or Granite. We also have a Lantana and in the area off the laundry room, we just added a 7foot corian counter top over 2 large base cabinets and above we have 2 cabinets with a nice wine rack. On the opposite side we had open shelves custom made and now we even have a PEG rack for coasts and tennis racquets. B&J Builders did our work.....highly recommended. The owner is a former TV Construction supervisor. The countertop came from "Solid Perfection' which installed our kitchen countertops.....Corian is not cheap but we now have alot more storage space and work space that can be used for both the kitchen and laundry!

Caroline - We're about a year out from switching all the countertops to granite. Know what we want but haven't priced it yet.
