The story I heard was that after the big boom of 2006, home sales declined and many of the contractors and subs let some of their workers go. When construction picked up a little, new people were hired who had less experience and these workers created more quality control problems. Apparently none were serious and problems were corrected as they were discovered.

I beg to differ! We are north of 466 (bought in 2007) and love it! To each her own.

You are so right. We bought south but just in these last five days as we settle into our house and take our daughter (our wonderful helper!) around the whole area, we are more and more impressed with the beauty and planning of this perfect place. The north has lovely spacious lots and views and foliage and diversity in floor plans. The south is new and gives one the opportunity to be just as new as ones neighbors.

How can we argue whether to sit on this cloud or that cloud when we are all in heaven?

I'll just be slightly picky here!

The VHA is Villages Homeowners Association, not Authority. I think it important to clarify, because "authority" implies something governmental and/or authoritarian - which VHA is not!

The POA beats the same issue to death for months upon months. They have had the same president for at least 5 years. Their big claim to fame is they made two Lawyers many millions of dollars when they sued the developer over amenity fee reserves. Just read there paper and you will see they are one sided.
