I had very good service from them - although they also have an "annual plan" that seemed pricey. I'll pay as I go.
Agree, if I am too busy to handle a call I refer them to Kalos.

FYI, for everyone on this post. As to the pricing of the 5 year labor warranty, Munns does not price it. The contract is purchased from AIG with Munns as the service company. Each time a warranty is ran Munns will submit a claim to AIG for reimbursement based on a set schedule.

And yet it cost me $1200 for an auto a/c in year 4 . so one time it would have been worth it . it's insurance . period

Default A/c

I just want to say when you going to go with anybody in Florida reliability and reputation are the 100% reasons to go with old companies. Munns and DeSantis are two of the best companies or air conditioning

I for one did not take the warranty when offered. My mistake. After 3 years everything went. It would have been an 8000 job. It was covered. Now I will have to pay 1200 from year 5 to 10 for labor. Well I for one will gladly pay it. They are prompt and honest.

We did it. It proved to be a good investment for us. The capacitor went out two times on our unit. The part was covered, but the labor would not have been. There is so much cost for them to come out, and then diagnosis and then getting part (s), and returning. Adds up quickly.

Default Warranty, yes

After five and a half years. My air conditioner quit on labor day. I had purchased the extended warranty within 14 days of closing on my home so I received a discount. Thankfully I had it because there was no charge on a bill that otherwise would have cost me $780 odd dollars. I know of other people who have used the warranty. I highly recommend.

Munn's came within an hour and put a temporary unit on and came back 2 days later and made permanent repair. #3 was just out of warranty and cost $600 parts and labor. The part on Amazon cost about $300. In all the instances I was never without AC for more than a few hours. I did not have the extended warranty. #1 &2 happened at about 4 and 8 years. #3 happened at 10 and a half years. 2 of my neighbors had the #3 problem within warranty.
My A/c drain line got plugged and A/C float switch was defective was not covered under warranty, price to replace it Munn’s $125 price on Amazon less than $15. I also have a rather large air filter on line price 2 for $54 last 6 months each Munn’s price on annual service call close to $100. I love Amazon.

seems like the vote is split 50/50 for and against

The best case scenario is being lucky enough to get an A/C unit that was built on a Wednesday and installed on a Wednesday.

The manufacturing environment is pretty much the same regardless of the product...

My FIL owned a car dealership...he always said that you want to buy a car that was built on a Wednesday.
Because the workers were still recovering from the weekend on Monday and missed things...on Tuesday they missed things because they were in catchup mode. By Wednesday they were hitting on all cylinders and everything was built to spec. Come Thursday they were beginning to think about the weekend and apt to miss a few things. By the time Friday rolled around they were totally into their weekend plans and not concentrating on work.
