For cable, you have a choice of one -- Comcast. You can get Dish or Direct TV.

I think that Century Link bundles a phone/internet/TV package where the TV side comes from Direct-TV or DishNet. This is unlike the Verizon-FIOS packages (that are currently not availale in TV area) where everything runs down Verizon's fiber-optic phone lines.

Well, I guess we qualify as being in the "older section". We have CenturyLink for phone, cable and internet. Works well for us! Whoever said Comcast was the only option was wrong. I don't like Dish or Direct TV, but they are available too.

Being picky here, but Dish Network & Direct-TV are NOT cable companies. They are satellite broadcasters and are under an entirely different set of FCC regulations as to where they are allowed to serve and what they can provide.

Cable companies such as ComCast, Cox & Cablevision of Marion County are not only under FCC law, but also are ONLY allowed to serve specific communities where they have an actual local government-granted franchise, much like your electric or gas utility.

Operations such as the Verizon-FIOS product (which is not currently available in TV) is under yet another set of FCC regulations regarding telephone companies.
