My son received money from his Grandma for Valentine's day and of course it was burning a hole in his pocket. Took him to Target in the Villages by the bowling alley and he picked out his items to purchase. Upon getting to the checkout line he reaches into his pocket and his money is GONE> $60.00 just like that vanished...Needless to say he was distraught. Doing the back track did not result in any find of his cash.

I am so happy for you and the youngster. It teaches him there are nice people in the world.
![]() I had a similar experience when I dropped my wallet in the condo parking lot. The neighbor upstairs grandson found it and they returned it to me. They didn't want the reward offered as she is a religious person and felt that was the right thing to do.

I agree.. there are a lot of good people out here but then there are a lot that would have just pocketed it...I still have faith in this human race!

Yesterday, at Publix, as I walked back to my car, I realized I had a large bottle of Pino wine in my shopping cart that was not mine. It had been double bagged in plastic by the young man who was bagging at the register.I figured it belonged to the woman who was at the register just before me.
After loading my groceries in the car, I brought back the bottle of wine. As I approached the register to turn in the wine, a woman was standing there with a huge smile on her face as the people around the register were saying, "Oh, there is your bottle of wine". That made me feel so good to return the wine to the person who had paid for it.

Now if someone would just return my Lob wedge I unintentionally left on a (non-TV) golf course about a year ago... My name, address, and phone number were on an ID wrap-around label affixed to the club. Too bad you didn't find it, Coffeebean. Because if YOU had, it would be back in MY golf bag as I write this. This past Wednesday I encountered a case that relates to what's being discussed, but it's more about character than honesty.
I was riding my mobility scooter from my home in Hadley to the new Colony Health Center to pickup my application booklet for joining. On my way back and just after reaching the sidewalk at the Odell gate, I heard a woman yell to me that I dropped something. I didn't see the woman nor did I even know where the voice came from, but I called out my thank you and after I carefully backed up I found my container of pain medication lying on the sidewalk. Now, she could have just ignored the the incident, but because she didn't and had the concern and character to yell out to me what happened, I won't need to go without the pain medication until I'm setup and have my first appointment with my new Doctor at the center this coming Thursday. It's doubtful the woman will read this post, but if she did I would again say to her... Thank you! ![]()

That was my bottle of wine at Publix! Thank you! The young man who sacked the wine was getting a bit of grief from the check out clerk, so hope that all went away when you returned the wine.

I am so happy for your grandson that he got his money back. I know my grand-nephews would be heartbroken if they lost their money. I just heard on the evening news that today is international 'pay it forward day'...very timely.

I bought my son a very expensive leather jacket several years ago when he lived in Manhattan. he went out one night and went to the restroom with his jacket left on the chair he was sitiing on. When he got back, it was gone. He couldn't even talk about it because he was so upset. I mentioned to him he should go back to the place and see if someone turned it in.
He did but no luck. Lesson learned.

Working as a cashier in the Villages, I had a lady who gave me a extra $20 bill that was stuck with another bill. She had no clue and I know its not big or nothing but it made me feel good giving it back because a lot of people would have slipped it into their right pocket.
