True. But, if the renter is a long term renter and is a legal resident of the house, they may be entitled to get their own mailbox or their own key from the USPS. I'm not sure if the property owner has exclusive rights to the mailbox.

Just be careful if you send mail to a THE UPS STORE using your PMB# as you cannot FORWARD MAIL FROM A THE UPS STORE (or any other private mailbox/PMB) address back to another address as your individual PMB # is not listed by the USPS. You can only do that from USPS box. You can (if they will do it) have a THE UPS STORE employee gather it for you and reship it to any address (for a fee of course). I managed a THE UPS STORE for 4 years and had that problem myself when I left and moved here. The owner who had 3 stores wasn't even aware of it despite it being part of the training and in the store manuals.

Yes, I currently have everything being delivered to a PO box. That being said, I have to have a physical address on file that is in that state and have the PO Box as my mailing address.

Almost every bill that you can get can be sent electronically. And if you are talking about packages you should specify home delivery only. By the way you can get your Amazon packages sent to a locker, as well as probably ordering from about 10 different stores locally that will deliver directly to your home and I'm not just talking food anymore. Instacart has really taken over by allowing delivery from drug stores dollar stores and discount stores that sell general merchandise.

Who? If you are a legal resident of the house (renter or owner), I think you have the right to receive mail from the USPS. I'm not certain, but it seems to me that a long term renter, who is the legal resident, may have more of a right to use the assigned mailbox than the owner, who is not a resident.

I agree. If I were a long term renter, I would ask the USPS to assign me a mailbox where all of the other residents receive their mail.

Why hadn’t anyone suggested they call the Lsdy Lake post office and ask to speak with the postmaster there? (Lady Lake P.O. manages all Villages mail service.) Why pay an attorney to research this? This isn’t In their wheelhouse.

We rented and used the UPS in Penelles Plaza. They are busy, but very good. Coming from a big city, my husband and I both wondered if the reason we couldn’t have a mail key in TV was that it could open up the possibility of squatting, as one could establish residency by receiving mail. Of course our opinion is tainted by having been in a city where that stuff is more common than one would think. Just a thought. Maybe it also has to do with the fact that most don’t seem to rent long term in TV and giving over keys could get messy or even people making copies of keys.
