Technically, you need to be accompanied by the host to use any of the facilities, including KB's, with a guest pass. It really is better to pay the $50 to get the rental pass for the two of you for the month. That way, you can do whatever you want and not take the risk of being kicked out. Plus, you get the pin number so you can golf or use the internet at the rec centers.

I'm surprised that the rental didn't convey resident passes for the month. This is my fourth time renting and I've gotten them each time. $50 (either included in your rental or extra). If this is your first time you might think they are guest but it may be resident transfer passes.

Better to pay the $50 and get resident if you plan to executive golf. But guest passes are fine for all neighborhood pools and rec center activites etc. Some things are limited to residents though.

Redwitch, what can we use with the guest pass ? Not interested in the golf or the internet as it comes with the internet at the Villa. Can we use the pools? Thanks for your input. Barb

Question Do I have this right?

We were told that without the $50 rental pass we had to have the owner with us to use the pools and access the amenities. Because of this we spent the $50. The owner had to surrender their pass for that property so we could get it but we were glad we did.

Technically, you can do NOTHING in the rec centers or pools without your "host" (owner/friend/whomever signs the guest pass). However, if you happen to walk in with a resident, the odds are pretty good that it will be assumed your guest pass is via that member -- they rarely check to see if the names match. So, you can risk it but I really wouldn't unless most of your activities are going to be with friends who already have resident passes.

Otherwise, you really are pretty much limited to anything open to the public (the town squares, most polo field events, churches, spectators at sports events such as softball, shows [paying non-resident fees, of course]). It really is worth getting the $50 pass. With it, nothing is denied you and you don't need an escort.

Hmmm.... I believe a clarification is in order.

If you have a regular, out-of-area guest pass, you can use the pools, rec centers, golf courses (paying guest fees). You cannot use the sports pools. You do NOT have to be escorted by your host. Just the guest ID and accompanying photo ID are needed.

If you have an in-area guest ID (immediate family member residing in Marion, Lake, or Sumter Co) then you do have to be escorted by your 'sponsoring' resident to use the pools, rec centers.

That has always been my understanding as stated by villages07. You can golf using a guest pass, but can not make Tee Times. You can use any of the Neighborhood/Family Pools or Rec Centers, but not the Sports Pools. We've had guest with us walk into Katie Belle's without question, unless it was assumed they were with us?

Here is the policy, http://www.districtgov.org/departmen...D%20Policy.pdf although not clear on available use of facilities. You can always call one of the Regional Rec Centers to help clear up any misconceptions.

A guest of a resident with a county club pool priority pass can also use the CC pools and without being with the resident.
