Just a strong WIFI signal. I got a WIFI extender free from T-Mobile since I have my phone account with them. However, you can by one for about $100 Best Buy or Amazon. M y assumption is you have a Smart TV.

Lived in Florida forever had one on my lanai for 10 years no problem. They do sell covers if you want one, I never had one.

Ouch. I've heard of watching TV with an iPad on one's chest in bed, but this is even more interesting.

Or a neighbor who plays the entire Meatloaf album full blast on his lanai. So glad I don't live in the house we had rented next to him. Feel sorry for his neighbors, even the ones on the other side of the golf course.

We bought a regular tv-mounted it on the wall with a swing out arm (so we can watch anywhere). Works better than the inside tv's. TVs are so reasonable, get one and enjoy!

We have a small flat screen on our screened lanai. It sits on a small table and we put a plastic bag over it to protect from dust, etc, and we bring it in during a hurricane. Its been outside for 3 1/2 years. As far as neighbors being annoyed there's never been a problem because we don’t turn volume way up and we are in a courtyard villa with a wall behind.

Was the original comment more about reception? I take it that there is no no cable and they are asking if an antenna is needed. I would think that some sort of antenna would be necessary.

In my house there are two cable outlets for tv. I use any old tv in the lanai. Keep the tv away fron the elements. No birdcage.

Best Buy has 25 different models of outdoor TVs, all made by SunBriteTV. Based on this thread, I wouldn't recommend buying stock in that company.

Default Why TV?

It is better to watch outside - seeing nature rather than be hooked watching the stupid TV!

Gooolllly, If I smelled the nasty cigar of a barking dog, I'd want to go watch how he does it!
