Default canopy cover for driveway

The past few times I've ridden my bike through a villa community near my home, I observe that there is a canvas pole barn type canopy covering the entire driveway of one of the villas. It must be for a second car or perhaps their golf cart takes up the entire garage. This is in the Calumet section in Marion County.

In any event, I am curious about the deed restrictions. I know that if it was in my driveway, the Village Watch would be there with a cease and desist order. Are there more relaxed restrictions in villa neighborhoods?

Deed restrictions vary, the older neighborhoods appeared to be much more relaxed.

There are fewer restrictions in "older" districts, such as lawn ornaments restrictions. However, I have never seen anything like you describe and if they were permitted I would think there would be lot of them.

You might want to run this one by the Deed Compliance Dept.
