Thinking of it as a “confrontation” is what will get you in trouble. Decide ahead of time a respectful way to talk to them. Then get yourself into a kindly mood and head on down to chat with them.

After reading this comment If I wanted to do cardio drumming I’d try to find a different instructor. Or find another activity.

i agree. Join in the fun: music, exercise, women and men happy to be able to enjoy each other and move around a bit. Honestly, get ear plugs or cover your head with a pillow until all of the wretched horror has ended. Cannot believe OP even thought this worthy of posting. GEEZ!!!

It is not music although music is played. It is the constant drumming that drowns out the music. It is happening about 8:00 am in the morning. Some people like to sleep a little later and why shouldn't we be able to do that?

When the instructor was asked about doing it later in the day, she refused.

I feel for you, I was in a campground once and there were a bunch of women doing it.... it's annoying as hell. Every one hated it, it ruined most peoples' morning. Personally, I think it's inconsiderate to make noise, in a neighborhood, that bothers your neighbors.

Seriously, it's one hour, It could be worse, they could be pounding away on a new roof or new addition on their house and they start at 7:00 a.m everyday for weeks, so look on the bright side and get on with life.

I’m glad I have highway noise out in the faraway new side. I don’t hear chimes, drums , or dogs , just a nice peaceful drone that puts me right to sleep

Just wondering, is there a way to adapt this activity to make it quieter? Not suggesting you discontinue the activity, but make it less noisy?
You say that no one is being hurt. Perhaps there are no physical damages, but at least some are being rudely awakened, disturbed and annoyed, so much so that they felt need to complain. Since this activity is normally held indoors where sound can be dampened, I should think that before bringing it into a neighborhood should have been discussed with and received a total buy in from all who may be affected before proceeding. Doesn't look like neighbors were consulted.
I'm pretty sure that if I were trying to have a nice quiet morning before starting my day, I also would find it extremely annoying at the very least. To say "if you hate music, get ear plugs" shows lack of consideration in that you expect others to have to adapt to a problem you created.

Cardiac issues, balance issues to name a few,

Neuropathy being the biggest issue since you have no feeling in either your hands or your feet getting on a bike it’s just like stepping in front of a car doing 40 miles an hour.

Drumming can give them a stable ground to do an exercise without putting their life in jeopardy or others

Default Decibel App

Download a decibel app to your smart phone. Decibel X is a good app, fairly accurate.

Default Cardio Drumming

It will all most likely end once cardio drumming is allowed to resume at the rec centers in the near future. I, for one am grateful for the opportunity to participate in cardio drumming in the neighborhoods for now.

I agree. If non-essential noise woke me up at 0800, I'd be ticked off too. I am never up that early. How incredibly RUDE! If they can do it in the garage, why can't they do it INSIDE their homes? I can understand construction or lawn maintenance noise as workers have no choice and have to do their jobs, making a living. Drumming is not a necessary outdoor activity and is loud and very annoying to most people. Then they have the nerve to tell others to put in ear plugs if they don't like it or refuse to change to a less ridiculous time? Nothing right about such appalling behavior - Beyond rude!

Default Tolerance for activities that bring Joy and Physical Benefits

Drumming for and hour to great music, fit ladies wearing colorful spandex (woo-hoo !) enjoying each other’s company, working earnestly at staying physically fit in order to fulfill The Villages lifestyle ( that’s the reason we’re all here). There’s always Lots more noise from a sequence all day of different landscaping company’s mowing lawns, weed whacking, and blowers going anywhere from 7am to 7pm. There’s a lot more going on in the USA at this time to be concerned about! Enjoy life here, join the fun!
