According to what I read the streets around the Squares are public property and this is why the "Deputy Smokey's" can ticket you for drinking a beer while sitting in your golf cart listening to music. Rather petty I say!

Well, can you have it both ways? One has to wonder............

(New law allows the District not the Developer) You must be too new to remember going to a Square and not getting a parking spot because 15-20 carts are all parked next to each other with 4 sale signs. Looked just GREAT! One evening behind Panara's I talked to a man who lived outside the Villages. He was unloading 2 carts from a trailer. He was bringing them to the square with 4 sale signs. He did it on market nights (more people and less parking because of the vendors)

Ever see a car or cart parked at a Postal Station with a 4 sale sign? People leave them all day and half the night. Taking a parking spot all day... that's GREAT! Screw my neighbors, I'm more important. Just ask me, I'll tell you.

We don't get to pick which rules we follow.... be a good neighbor and resident.... follow them all.
(New law allows the District not the Developer) - Now that you stated that, there are several Districts in TV's. Have they all adopted this new rule and if so, did each District have a vote at their CDD Meetings? I'm just curious, and maybe I am wrong here, but when you stated District, I'm thinking CDD Districts. Please explain. Not trying to be confrontational in anyway.

Actually, there is a VCCD rule prohibiting any attempt to sell a car, golf cart or any other vehicle on District-owned property. So, the sign is a tipoff that you are in violation. It’s kind of a catch 22. There is no rule against the sign except you can’t do what it proposes. The sign and the act of are one in the same.

I am trying to locate this rule.

I could see not allowing dealers to come in and sell carts cause they won't get their cut. But, privately owned vehicle don't see how they can stop it. Just don't park in parking lot. I also think the bigger problem are illegally parked vehicles which should be their priority, not some resident legally parked on the street with sign on his cart or car. If were going to stop signs then how about the all the lettering and old license plates plastered all over carts?
And of course John Doe dealership advertising on back of all cars? Let's pull All signs hy

If was was to run and get elected that what I would do! Straighten out this place

"O" and no radios at the pools also!

Can I count in your vote

Sorry - I have to ask why. You don't have to answer.
That would be like watching paint dry.

I don't know what's going on up in Ohio... but I'm doing this stupid
crap today because I'm to sick to play golf.

Once again, the prohibited signs are for being on District owned property.

The streets in The Villages are PUBLIC and that includes around the squares.

Are the parking lots behind the squares public places?

I believe those are District owned. Why would a cart with a For Sale sign on it - in a parking lot BEHIND the squares bother anyone? Are there so many such carts being sold everyday that they take up the entire lot?

Takes up room that is needed to park little white golf cars that have numbers on them.
