I would want to hear that from the people who own/maintain the roads, rather than from someone at Welcome Wednesday. it's a well-known fact that the developer does not always lay things exactly out for people.

Personally, I see no problem with letting someone put a For Sale or For Rent sign on their cart. It does look better than having a large sign on your car advertising a business and driving it around and parking it in your driveway.
Actually they are district owned, the Sumter Landing Community Development District (SLCDD). The developer only owns the actual commercial property, not the parking areas.

The "district" (or who ever made up this rule about for sale signs on golf carts) may think that their rule applies to public streets as well as district owned property such as parking lots, but that doesn't necessarily make it so. It is pretty much unenforcible at any rate. If I ever decide to sell my golf cart, I will no doubt place a sign on it indicating it is for sale. Then I will drive it around The Villages just the same as I do now. If some one attempts to cite me for breaking this rule, I will simply explain that my cart is not parked where it is for purposes of selling it. Rather it is parked there for purposes of me going to the movies, or shopping, or listening to music on the Square, or whatever reason I choose to make up. Then I will invite them to prove otherwise.

Well, can you have it both ways? One has to wonder............
Florida drinking laws are different from other states. Many don't know you don't have to be on a public road to be stopped for drinking in a vehicle. Even on the golf paths, your driveway......Check this site
