Does anyone know of any 'Casino's' close to the Villages? Day trips (Bus/Car)? Junkets?
Living in NYS all my life, I've been exposed to A/C and Indian Casino's!!! Thanks!!

Rip... there are bus trips to gambling boats that go out of Port Canaveral for half day trips. AAA travel in the villages does some of the organizing. The boats are a bit dated and hard core gamblers say the payout is not very good. They have slots, blackjack, poker, craps, roulette. We paid 15 each...included bus transportation and a so so buffet lunch; The boat ride was the best part.

I believe I have also seen excursions to the hard rock/seminole casino.

So, you see, you're not too far from gambling.

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino is the one I know of is in southern Florida probably 4 1/2 hour ride
think its Hollywood Florida.

You need to fly to the Bahamas for a real casino probably a 45minute flight. My wife loves slots and it is one of the things she will miss. As we presently live in Southern California and there are about 15 Indian casinos within 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive, don't know where we will gamble once we get to the villages.

Actually the Biloxi MS casinos are a great "bet". We have not been there since Katrina but I understand that the Beau Rivage is rebuilt better than ever.

This is the Las Vegas experience in this area. It is about a 12 hour drive...up 75 to 10....go west on 10 but when we visited it a few times it was fantastic !

diskman(larry) - I'll keep your name handy and when we both get toTV we'll hit the slots.. I prefer a good Joker Poker slot! I see it's about 12 hrs to Biloxi... not bad for a long weekend... ps - I was born in Bklyn more towards the Queens border (Ridgewood).. my wife was a city girl and was out of Floral Park when we met!

My wife and I look forward to our idea
I was looking at the string of places u have lived mine is
Brooklyn, Forest Hills, Oceanside NY, Longbeach NY, Freeport NY & Southern California presently.
Unfortunately not retired yet maybe 4 yrs off but, TV will be the place. Don't think I will take a chance buying before i sell , from what I have been reading of the people who have tried buying first.
One of my closest friends owned the record shop on broadway in Ridgewood in the 70's I know the area fairly well.

Someone asked where is the closest Indian casino. The Hard Rock Indian Reservation Casino in Tampa is close. It is exactly a one and a half hour drive from TV down I75 to I4 west on I4 for one mile and get off at first exit. It is right next to the Florida State Fair grounds. You can't miss it with the Hard Rock sign on the tall hotel at Casino. It is a big casino which is currently doubling in size. I work as a volunter at the Cracker Country Living History Museum at the State Fair Grounds and go past the casino frequently. It is an easy drive down from TV. Once on the Interstate it is none stop to the Casino - and no tolls.

It is too far to go to any one of the casinos. Just drop your money off at my house. 8)

RayB, Good directions but are there buses from TV to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa? Or does AAA offer day trips?

Florida indian casinos are different than most casinos. slot payout depends on action from other players.
sometimes you get a message that says standby waiting for more players!
Put it this way if you NEED action it is better than nothing.

I liked the Hard Rock in Tampa....do you think that it is because I won $600 on nickle slots. I never won that much when I played in Vegas. Hard Rock has slots and poker (O.K. that was a year ago and maybe it has changed) no other live gaming like black jack. Look in the paper for "deals". I think it was $20 and that included bus fare, $20.00 in gambling money and $5.00 towards lunch. Translation it can be kinda free. Fun for a day
