And the answer is none. At least for us. We have tried three including AT&T and Verizon with very poor results.

We have been using Verizon for the 6 years here in both Pennecamp and now in Gilchrist and never have had a dropped call.

Most of the towers here are Verizon, with a couple of AT&T. So, those two are your best bet. I use SmartTalk from Wal-Mart with a Verizon phone. My biggest problem is in the house, rarely any problems outdoors or on the lanai.

Another vote for Verizon. We have never had a problem.

We live south of 466A - and terrible reception & drop calls with Verizon - and all our neighbors! Called in to complain and got on the list. They offer the booster for $200. - no thanks! Then I heard from neighbors, they got the booster for free! So we called back and since we were on record for reporting poor reception, we also got the booster free - and yes it helps! I'd like to know if anybody has Cricket south of 466A and how the reception is - trying to cut down the cell phone bill!
Good Luck!

I am not currently in residence at TV, but when I was at our house in Pine Ridge last July, I had zero problems with cell reception using Consumer Cellular (uses AT&T network). My plan gives me 500 MB data, 300 call minutes, and 5000 text messages per month for $25 plus tax. More, higher limit plans are available. Not an employee of CC, just a satisfied customer.

First week we were here three dropped calls all to our grandchildren and all with Mrs. Nucky, needless to say on the third strike I called to cancel and was sent to the retention office and told them to release me and refused to tell the them the story and just said I wanted out. The rep asked if we could speak in an hour and I agreed. I guess she wanted to give me time to calm down.

One hour later the call came thru that it would cost me about $600 to bail out or that I could try this booster for free....so I tried the booster...it worked, my life was spared by Mrs. Nucky but I'm going to Cricket for the cheapest phone and plan I can get. I don't need a phone with 7 million gigawatts of speed or memory or whatever the hell I got wrapped up in with these fancy Verizon Phones. Part of the deal was I was never supposed to tell anyone I got the Samsung Home Booster Tower for free. I kept it on the low for 5 months. The phone companies tell little white lies, so can I. If you need hand getting thru to them that you are serious about bailing out just pm me and I'll help you out.

I use Google Fi and they give you unlimited talk and text for a flat $20 a month. Data is $10/GB. You decide when you sign up how much data you need per month (e.g. you might decide that 1GB is enough for you, in which case your total monthly bill will be $30, plus a bit more for taxes and fees of course). If you do not use all the data you signed up for in a given month, you get a refund for the unused portion. It uses the Sprint, T-Mobile, or US Cellular networks whichever one has the best signal for you at any given moment. Handoffs from one carrier to another are done on-the-fly and are supposed to be seamless (i.e. if you are on a call via T-Mobile and you wander in to an area where Sprint is better, the call will hop onto Sprint and you won't lose the connection). It also supports WiFi calling so that if you are on WiFi, your calls go over that instead of the mobile network (and sound great by the way, at least if you have good WiFi). Both the wife and I use it and it is the best we have found so far South of 466A (We live in the village of Sanibel)

When outside south of 466A I've never had an issue with AT&T. But the reception inside certain rooms of our home was not good. I called AT&T...they sent me a booster for free also.

I live south of 466A, use Verizon LTE with an I phone 6s and have no problems whatsoever. In fact, I have yet to have a problem anywhere in TV.

As far as a "booster" goes, it sounds like this is a simple range extender for your home router---it does you no good out and about. Depending on your home design and location of your router, you might need one to cover your whole home. But be careful to understand the various encryption protocols and use a strong password, otherwise anyone within a few hundred feet could tap into your network. You might be safe from your neighbors, but their grandkids could be into your personal files in about 30 seconds!

The problem is not the closeness of the towers, but the idiotic placement transmitting across the marshes, many areas on the same streets are hit and miss, and can change from day to day. If you are or have purchased a home in the area, the best thing to do is to take multiple readings of signal strength inside that home, and on the lanai. In areas affected, concrete clock and poured concrete will suffer the most. Also homes built 2015 or later are more susceptible, as radiant barriers may add a little more to the challenge.

I had a Verizon microcell and had terrible results with it. The best solution around it though on either Verizon or AT&T (can't speak for the rest of them) is if you have an iPhone, to enable WIFI calling when you are at home. This way you end up using your home internet for your cell calls anyway--when you are home. I assume Android has a similar function.
