Default Centurylink internet problems after Irma?

Anyone else having problems connecting? I called and got the pre-recorded message that the internet connection problems should be resolved by September 13. I'll call back and speak to someone if other Villagers are connecting.

If I don't get any responses, I guess I can assume that centurylink internet users are having internet access problems.

Thanks, I guess it's working for some of us. I called and talked to a tech and he also said it should be fixed by noon tomorrow. Since I stream tv with DIRECTV now, I guess I'll have to read a book.

CenturyLink worked fine in the Brownwood area. Never lost electricity like they did to the North Villages.

We have CL fiber optic and I had it online before, during and after and never lost the internet. In fact, in six years I've only had one outage, that was about 2 years ago and it was a lightning strike had taken out the backup battery in the garage. The tech came out the same day I called and he replaced the battery and it came back. I didn't know we had a lightning strike, but he said it probably hit outside the garage somewhere.

We also have not lost our power, I think most people with SECO kept their power. We live about 3-1/2 miles north of Brownwood square and 3-1/2 miles south of LSL, it's the Seabreeze Rec Center area.

I'll call tomorrow if we don't have it by noon. Maybe it's the northern part of the Villages where its out. As I mentioned, we stream the TV so it's tough being a "news junkie" without internet or TV. But I really shouldn't complain as Phillips Villas never lost electricity.
Before we cut the cable, up north in RI we were paying $200 a month for telephone, internet and cable.

Bruce, I pay over $200 but we're TV junkies but not the networks, all the unusual stuff like ID Channel (Investigation Discovery), Premium Movie Channels (all of them) which is close to 50 commercial free channels in HD plus On Demand from all of them HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, etc. I have Directv Premier Package, which is everything including maintenance plus NFL Sunday Ticket HD Premium edition (all the football games). If I paid the regular price for all that, it would be about $250, but since I've been with them since 2008 and have never been late, they gave me NFL Ticket for free and $40 off a month for 12 months, so I'm paying about $170.

Century Link I have 10mpbs internet fiber optic and telephone with unlimited long distance, caller ID and call block and it's $59.99 a month plus tax. I've had that since July 2011 and they have never changed rates or service or anything, so I leave well enough alone. I have inquired about faster internet but they want credit card numbers and only 12 month guarantees, so I say, don't fix it if it ain't broke. On my smart tv I can watch Netflix, Youtube, all with no problem so the 10 is fine with me. I get 4K on Netflix, I just got a 75" Samsung in May and put the 60" in the BR.

Wow that's a lot of channels for $170.
We only watch a few stations on DIRECTV now, mostly Fox News, one america news, fox business and tvland. As far as sports, I was a diehard New England/Boston fan when I was younger but I'm losing interest as I get older which surprises me.
Back home I've been a projector nut since the late 90's. Presently I have a Benq set up with a 96" screen. My wife won't let me set one up down here but I'll keep working on her.
