I really like the idea of moving it to 6-10 for the summer, but I don't understand keeping the happy hour at 5-6. Seems like if people get there an hour earlier to take advantage of happy hour, they'll be pretty lit by the time the music stops at 10.
Thoughts? |

Others enjoy the music and appreciate a break on prices. Keeping the happy hour from 5-6 while shifting music to 6-10 messes that up. A cynical me is suspicious. I never experienced happy hour prior to Covid but from what I've heard it became shorter and included less when the squares reopened. I know in the six years I've been here the items available at happy hour prices have been reduced twice - first from all beer to just draft beer and then from all draft beer to just "domestic" draft beer which excludes draft beer imported from Wesley Chapel, Florida. I wonder if this is an opportunity to discover that the 5-6 happy hour doesn't draw many customers and then end it completely.

Wondering how empty the squares will be during the 9-10 PM entertainment time slot this summer? As it is now, the squares empty out significantly during the 8-9 time slot. |

I like the change to the entertainment hours ... 6 - 10 during the summer months sounds great ... But ... The Happy Hour should be adjusted accordingly ... 4 - 5 doesn't make any sense with the music starting at 6 ... Short sighted decision ... And what's the Happy Hour increase at Sawgrass ... Now they have 2 hours ... SS used to have 2 hours & we lost an hour ... Sounds like Sawgrass business' are afraid Eastport is going to steal customers & they pressured someone.

I believe the reduction in happy hour times at Spanish Springs was due to a change in the law limiting the length of happy hours in Lake County.

IMO happy hour promotes drunkenness, which some have enough problems with without getting discount

People are trying to beat the traffic out. It will likely be no different except an hour later.

But they didn't change the happy hour times, it's still 5-6pm, I believe.

Better to shorten the music time to 6-9 and lower the volume on the music.
As for the alcohol, we are hurting our fellow villagers' health by promoting excess alcohol drinking. ( many medical articles consider "excess" drinking as ANY alcohol if you're thinking of health considerations) |

Now that it's shutting down at 10, the crowds will start to thin out before 10, instead of before 9. We call this "adapting" in my country. |

This is excellent. It means people who come to get drunk for cheap, will now be sober by the time the music's ready to end.
