And I find it MUCH more distracting when the people sitting behind me insist on having LOUD long conversations with each other, basically completely ignoring the fact that there's music playing and people trying to listen to it.

And I find it MUCH more distracting when someone chooses to put their chair too close to the wall, after being told by the Watch guy that he needs to move it a few feet forward, and then gives the Watch guy an argument even though he's the ONLY one who wants to block access.

And then those other people who sit at one end of the wall, who INSIST on walking in front of everyone in that row to get to the other side - when all they have to do is go the other way and they won't have to cross in front of anyone at all.

And all the people with dogs, who insist that their dogs LOVE loud music. Hint: they're behaving themselves because they're trained to behave themselves, or because they're too overwhelmed to do anything else. Dogs are very sensitive to sound. You're causing them damage. Stop doing that.
Things have not changed. My dad had a simple view of these sorts of issues. Your rights end where the other person's rights begin. Truly a simple view of the most complex issues.

As far as your dogs. Truly simple, why do you bring your dog to a concert?

The most complex issues are truly simple.

As stated I simply do not care. If, I did, I would give you power that should be AND IS mine.

No one cares that he dances around , conducts , spins etc. but when he screams and shouts and chants , that is a different story . His “exuberance” is infringing on my right to enjoy the music . Last night for example Bobby B was doing a slow blues love song and all you could here was this guy screaming and chanting. Disrespectful to the band and everyone else there . So stop with your live and let live, and if you don’t like it don’t go stuff, and admit that there are standards of reasonable behavior in public,,,, and he is WAY over the line.
I have to agree.

The original poster was stating what he saw. I think his screaming, especially if it’s blood curdling, is annoying & rude to the band.
Telling the O.P. to stay home is also rude. We all attend the same
venues and we all have the same right to be there.

I continue to be amazed at how you feel it’s okay to jump on posters.
Is it any wonder why TOTV has been declining?

He doesn't "scream", and what he does vocally is not "blood curdling"

That is greatly exaggerated by a few

Thank you!!!! I totally agree.
Do I like his antics- absolutely not... and yes his scream has made me jump .
A person being uninhibited is not a bad thing...but what he does crosses a line, and now many others are getting up and doing their little performance for the crowd. Have you ever seen the older cowboy couple at SS that...I don't know what..sashsey around the circle all night, dressed as twins....ok,ok...nothing wrong with that, but just bf the band returns and they announce all the rules and regulations, she stands there and mouths the whole speech making all these childish faces. It's not cute, quite the contrary and it seems if we allow these displays to continue, it won't be a square to dance in, but a circus with jugglers, and Hola hoops, etc etc for all the school clowns to get their last jollies.
Please don't tell me, if you don't like it, don't go....I love the square, I love to see people dance and have fun... what I don't like is one or two insecure people that feel the need to perform ruining things.

Some of the bands are quite good. My friend said sometimes she finds one that is very boring and goes home early.

Personally I have only seen a few bands when they were actually at the Squares. I view what I can online.

Those two have been regulars at the square at least since I've been here.
Oh and for your information, what she is doing during the announcement is signing the rules and regs to the hearing challenged in the group.
Some people..............

Default Help is needed for people like Robin Williams with mental illness not criticism.

Mental health has long been shuttered to a back closet in this country...something to be whispered about but not discussed in the open. Time to provide the funds needed to properly care for those with mental illness rather than just letting them roam the streets.
Having having a spouse that died from Lewy body which can cause this condition, Have knowing about Robin Williams suicide which had very possibly contributed by Lewy Body. We need more Help for these poor people not a lecture on their behavior.
