If you want to retire in a community where it truly is for 55 and older and not open to residents’ younger family members, you should consider Dell Webb. They restrict pool hours and other activities for non residents to about an hour and a half daily. We love that The Villages welcomes family members and guests of all ages. It helps keep us young at heart!

My issue is with the children of all ages that abuse the generosity of their parents. How many time do we hear of these children of villagers being arrested for abuse. dui. assault. I say ban them from living in the villages. And as for the kindhearted grandparents that are raising their grandchildren. Please move to a family community. I know this is going to upset people but I am at the age that I don't care anymore. Most age restricted places limit the amount of time you can have visitors. Some do not allow rentals past 6 months. They limit non resident pool time to 10 am to noon. I have raised my family and want to enjoy my retirement

Your daughter sounds like a responsible adult and is NOT one of the children I was thinking about. I am talking about the ones that dont want to work, live of parents social security and cause trouble and bring trouble. If you have a handicapped child They are also welcome. My complaint is with the percent of "children" that should have been kicked out of the nest years ago.
