The Crucifix is there because the Morses want it there. It's their building. There, you have your answer.

OK, you went to size 5 font and bold faced it. Thread still open. Try clicking you heels together three times and saying, "There's no place like home."

Brilliant conclusion!!!! But wait, should a building, even the Morse's building have a cross atop it if it's not a church. The movie theater is also theirs; no cross. The La Raeina Building is theirs; no cross, etc., etc.,etc.

Would like to see more non-religious buildings with crosses on them here in the Villages. Especially if it fits in with the style of the building as with the Sharon.

The movie theater could have a cross on it too if the Morse's want. It could have an elephant statue on it; it's their property. You can bellyache if you want, but in the end you don't get a say.

If it is a government owned building, Crosses(nor any other religious symbols) should be displayed, except in a very few special situations. If it is a privately owned building, it is up to the owner, also except for a few special instances( architectual regualtions etc)

In the case of private buildings, we have complete freedom to not enter the building,(boycott if you will) but not to infringe on the owners statutory property rights.

just my strongly held opinion (if anyone cares)

I never really thought about whether the building has the religious symbols, stained glass or whatever left on them or whether or not it may be still used for religious purposes. It could still be used for christenings, weddings, receptions, or any thing else for that matter. I have more pressing issues like staying alive on the cart paths.

It`s going to become very ugly very quickly when the day comes that the Developer goes away and leaves the community to " The Tyranny of the Minority " .

Our Pledge mentions one nation under God, our money says in God we trust. I have no problem with a cross on a government building.

What is gibberish to some is entertaining to others.

It was a church originally. My guess is the Morse family didn't want the added expense to remove it!!!

Nothing more, nothing less.
