Default Class "Lightning Tips" at Lifelong Learning Center

Based on prior recommendation from a fellow TOTV'r, I took the class Lightning Tips this evening. Being new to this whole lightning thing, I found the class to be informative and helpful - it answered many of my questions. I thought the 2 presenters were very knowledgeable and presented a lot of information in an objective manner. I would recommend that any new Villager or anyone thinking about installing a Lightning Protection System take the time to go to this class. Thank you to whoever it was that suggested the class was available. Thank you, thank you.

What was your take on the class? To have or to not have lightning rods?

Their bottom line was to look at your risk tolerance. Mine is low coupled with a very high fear of lightning (I actually go into my closet when it is close to the house). So, for those 2 reasons, I think having them will give me some peace of mind. I was already on the wait list for A-1 and the class just reaffirmed my decision was right for me. Plus the strike about 50 yards from my house in last Friday's storm didn't hurt either! So, I'm getting them but it's definitely an individual decision. What I liked was someone who knows what they are talking about actually presenting data and facts so an informed decision can be made.
