It gets hot down here often, so what might be ok on a rare cold day,
can turn bad pretty quick on a scorcher!
Actually, Fred, I do put it into the trash in the kitchen. But I always double-bag it. Where else could I put it?

That's what I'm saying. The signs are STUPID! It would be another thing if they actually recycled the tons of junk mail left at the postal stations, but they don't. It's utterly ridiculous. And STUPID!

Just my thoughts.

Or their whiskey bottles/beer cans. I'm reluctant to pick whiskey bottle due to open container laws in my cart. I can just hear the sheriff, I picked up that empty bottle off the street and am going to dispose of it properly, I sure you are as I'm hand cuffed bumping my head shoved in cruiser and yes I only have one balancer due to inner ear and all the associated pieces. I stumble around walking normally which means I can never pass sobriety test.

I pick up trash all the time when out walking. I also see other people doing it. The unsung hero's

I agree, nothing stinks like dog poop and it gets stinker as time goes by. I bag it, tie it tightly, leave it outside and put it in the trash on trash day. Never throw in public trash cans.

I’d put it in a double bag like you do,
but I’d keep it in a covered trash can in the garage.

My thoughts are....junk mail and dog poop do not fare
the same in the heat of the Florida sun!
I don’t think it is stupid to not have people smelling dog poop when retrieving their good or junk mail!

Umm. How about taking all your mail home and putting what you don’t want in your household recycling? That’s what we and most of our neighbors do.

Why do folks think that the area(s) around the Postal Stations are there for dog walks and dog relief? I have seen folks allow their critters use sidewalks, sides of mail buildings, memorial benches, bocce courts, shuffle courts, horseshoe pits and grass around all these areas. Don't they know that folks use these areas and I for one do not like the idea of walking in the area that has been used so many times as a latrine for animals. What is wrong with the area(s) of grass around the dog owners homes? They sure seem to like their neighbors yards and allow their animals to do their business there! The postal box area is not a dog walk! It is not there to exercise dogs or act as their latrine!

I don’t understand why people drive to the mailboxes with their dogs to go in the first place.

First, I am a dog owner. However, I was taught to respect others as well as myself. My dogs are not allowed on benches, yards and/or public areas that others may wish to enjoy. Some pet owners have no respect for themselves or others. You know, the kind of folks that take a **** and walk out without washing their hands (and then want to shake you hand).. You will never change it. People have respect for others or they do not. It by no means is missing in only some pet owners....

Your right. People feel entitled and don't care. It is disgusting this world has gone.

Well said. However if only your clearly respectful post would change those who don't care about others.

I think that is established early in childhood. Or may be genetic.

Or regional.
