Default Cleaned Out Our Closets

Due to the rain, we have spent nearly the whole day cleaning out our closets of clothes that are perfectly fine but we will never wear again. Most of them are too small. Anyone know where we can bring them so someone can get some use of them? Mens jeans and shirts. Ladies skirts, tops, shorts and shoes. Two huge bags. Hate to just throw them out

Default Many needy

There are several places that take used clothing. The hospital has a thrift store in Lady Lake, The Haven in Leesburgh will take womens clothes, St. Timothy's has a collection the 4th Thurs. of each month. I'm sure there are more.

We spent some of the rainy day cleaning out a file cabinet and shredding all sorts of useless information. Being organized just feels good.

My husband and I take our good used clothing and deposit them in a container located in the rear of Lowe's and Bealls on 441/27. The container is in the back between both stores.

I took a whole bunch of stuff to the hospital thrift shop on 441 which is next to the Tuesday Farmer's Market. They were thrilled and said that they would like all sorts of items such as linens, shoes, kitchen ware, etc. Nice bunch of ladies who run the place.

Just two thoughts,
1. Tax deduction I always make a list of what I give and then have the person sign that they recieved it at the charity thrift store. You can't do that if you use a drop off. I have been audited for my deductions before and having a signed and dated reciept helped alot.

2. When I used turbo tax it has a nice little calculator for the value of shirts skirts et all. It is now available online for free I think.
It called its deductable. You have to set up an account. they hope you will then do your taxes with Turbo tax , but you don't have to, just use the tool.
I haven't used it yet as I printed out the sheet from previous years taxes and used that, but I noticed it existed.

Default Clothing drop behind Bargains & Treasures

We dropped our clothes off at a truck that was behind the old Bargains & Treasures store in the shopping development opposite Walmart on 27/441. I think they might go to Habitat for Humanity but am not sure.

Is it called Spruce Creek Terrace Shoppes? Can't quite remember but it's the one where the Comcast is. Just drive into the car park and go as far left as you can and it's behind the last store - the opposite end from Comcast.
