Default Cleaning Stainless Steel

I tore down my Stainless-Steel Weber BQ grill today to clean and have food stains on the side trays and other area's.
I have tried ever cleaner for stainless steel on Lowe's, Home Depot, and Walmart selves
with no luck.
I tried those scrubbing sponges for pots and pans, and even steel wool.

Any Ideas before I get my blow torch and power sander out?

I'm beginning to think the extra $$$$ paid for SS appliances are a ripe off.

Cheers!

Search 'Bar Keepers Friend' on Amazon; read the descriptions to match with the issue you're having, not sure what to suggest if one of these don't work?

I don't know if it will have any effect on whatever food stains you have, but a friend who reps one of the high end grill brands recommends regular cleaning with WD40. I'd expect abrasives would "leave a mark" at very least.

Is it possible that you have a rust problem, not dirt or food stains?

This is interesting, I have never had a problem cleaning SS, so I am now guessing that these are not food stains but chemical stains which may be much harder to clean.
On a side note, I think I have 2 new Weber SS side panels, let me know if you are interested.

I use baking soda and vinegar to clean stains off my stainless steel. Works great to un-dull sterling silver too. Just wet it down with water, coat it with baking soda, and dip it into some vinegar. Bubble bubble bubble shine.

When I worked in fast food we used club soda with surprisingly high results.

'Bar Keepers Friend' works well without scratching the metal. Available at most grocery/hardware stores.

Bar Keepers Friend' or Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish works well without scratching the metal. Available at most grocery/hardware stores.

Steel wool will scratch the finish.

I agree with "Bar Keepers Friend", which by the way they have at the Walmart on 44.

I used it on a SS sink that a tenant stained badly some chemical. Took the stain right off. I believe it is actually etching and micro-polishing the surface. You can see by the color of the cleaning cloth that some of the steel is wearing off. And it takes elbow grease, which further tells me there is a polishing action going on.

Why does the grill have to be so pretty? Don’t you have a grill cover for it?

Good point. I have a shirt with an oil stain on it. I wear a decorative pin to cover up the stain.

I have a cover.
The stains are from the food.

Another vote for barkeeper's friend. It's the best for stainless steel.
