And if you do happen to encounter a not-quite-so-nice person on occasion, don't worry - they're definitely in the minority in TV!!

I think you're so smart to look in established neighborhoods so you can see what you get. Maybe the day of extended amenities (ie bowling alleys and ball fields) will be a thing of the past since the Morse's lost their favorite financing vehicle, tax-free bonds. Another consideration is to decide what county you want to be in. There are differences as far as property taxes, electric companies, health insurance options. A lot of this stuff you can research on-line.

Assuming that the dirt track won't be there forever, if one goes over the cart bridge, what is near for shopping? (grocery etc.)

YIKES!, posh - once over the golf cart bridge - the sky's the limit!!!

check out this link:
http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle...gdiningmap.asp

it is a map that has clickable links to each of tv shopping areas which then show you all of the stores in each area!

yes, posh! the cart bridge will put you into a parking lot that you will exit left and enter the spanish springs town square area. from there you will find cart lanes and paths that will take you to the farthest points of the villages - if you have a gas cart or a fully charged electric cart. we have a gas cart so i couldn't tell ya if you can get all the way out AND back in an electric cart. if you look at the legend on your villages map, i believe there is an indication for cart paths - it should help you see how they wind thru the various sections.

paige place and morse blvd each have cart lanes that share the roadway with autos - using them takes some getting used to. leaving la grande plaza shopping center at avenida central one can go straight across the road at a traffic light to get into the target/staples shopping center; there is also a cart lane going to the right and one would have to carefully navigate across traffic to make a left turn into the villages behind that shopping center. once in the target/staples shopping center, you cannot exit out the rolling acres rd side becase carts are not allowed on that road.

POSH...You have to get down here and really see how great this place is with your own two eyes.

I can hardly wait to hear what you think after you really check it all out!!

Did you know you can get to Rolling Acres Road, the dog park, the wood working shop and the community garden on your cart from Spanish Springs? It is a paved path to get there. The path going in front of the Lion's Club driving range to the wood working shop and garden isn't paved all of the way, but it isn't bad.

We have electric carts and can go from the Historic side to anywhere and back home in TV that is cart accessible without any problems. If we have four people on the four-seater, we are a little more cautious of going too far, but we can go to Sumter Landing without a thought with four people.

Thats a lot of cruising! I'm leaning towards electric. Our sales rep showed us the cart bridge. It looked creepy in the rain. How is it?

Did you go across the bridge in a cart? Here's my take. The first time I went over in a cart, driving myself, I wasn't sure about the distance I had in my lane and the wall to my right. I was a little paranoid and overly cautious. I got use to it and it was a breeze. Even in the rain.

Then we bought a second cart with sideview mirrors that stick out. Even now with much experience under my belt, I am always scared my mirrors are going to either hit another cart or the side. LOL I just go across slowly. There is nothing to it in the rain or the sunshine.

Once a few months back, we didn't have our battery charger plugged into the outlet, but we had the plug in our golf cart. We thought the cart was fully charged. I took off over the bridge and ran out of power when I'd nearly reached the top. I had to back off the bridge on a busy Sunday morning. Nothing much scares me about that bridge now except the fear of my wide mirrors hitting someone elses' cart.

Wheeling around in a golf cart anywhere and everywhere is really a wonderful feeling of independence to me that I can't explain.

No, the sales rep drove us out that way in his car. My fear has abated some after your response. Thanks.
