Default Blackberries?

I wonder if the American Legion blackberry festival will be a disappointment as it was last year. Many people waited in line only to find "No Blackberries"!! Maybe they will be better prepared this year.

Default No berries

We went to the strawberry festival not this past season but the one before and there was a huge crowd but no strawberries! We decided not to attend any of the berry festivals any more. Too much trouble parking, too many people and no berries.

Not going to sit in all that traffic for nothing this year. Big disappointment in 2012. Could have bought good berries at the farmers market that morning, but wanted to support the VFW Post. Not this time!

Don't get much better than this..............complaining about an event before it happens.

Talked with a couple of the vendors at the Brownwood farmers market Saturday and they say the blackberry season is running late this year. They were both hoping to start picking by this coming weekend. Could have an impact on the festival if the berries really are not ready.

Have you tried the U-pick-em place off of 466, sort of behind the Walmart? It is fantastic.
