Thanks to all. I looked at the house with the color coated driveway again today, and have decided to cross it off my list of possibles. It just needs too much updating. My husband wasn't able to go with me, so I took a couple of long time friends to see several places and am narrowing it down. Looked at six places today and decided against three of them, so am now down to three.https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...es/pepper2.gif

Don't know what I did wrong, but the above is supposed to be the jumping pepper.

I was there when they did mine, I'm somewhat handy but this is not a job I would want to tackle on my own.

Be careful painting concrete in Florida. My hubs went to Lowe's and walked away with a recommended concrete paint. Unfortunately the paint peeled and chipped and looked horrible.

Although Lowe's/Home Depot are companies we depend on for expertise, they didn't tell us that PAINT for concrete is not recommended for humid Florida. The humidity will cause it to peel and chip! Research what I just said if you don't believe me.

Go with a stain if considering decorating your concrete. The stain will not chip and peel.

We hired an all lady company to redo our concrete and they sand blasted the old paint off then stained it. It looks beautiful and I couldn't be happier!

It looks so much better than our plain concrete and provides a very clean curb appeal.

JohnN...did you drive by and look at ours?
Where would a stained driveway be available for us to see?

Maybe a mural. You know, green on the bottom, blue on the top with lots of pink flamingos. Could even have a small pond in the middle with an alligator eyeing lunch. Now that would be a driveway to drive the neighbors crazy.

Default Painted or Not

I was sure that we were the only ones in TV, without a painted driveway.....We are counting on having the most unique driveway in a few years - PLAIN!!!.....We can think of more OTHER things to do with $5000. The driveway painters must have some good looking salesman....giggle...
