Agreed... It's the one's claiming others are "rude, entitled, and arrogant snobs" who are the problem...

Yes. True. The vast majority. I do have to say I have the seen cruise lines handle problem adults very swiftly, usually at the next coming port!

Default Narcissism

Regarding the question raised on Narcissism, Dr. Stout points out "Narcissism is a failure not of conscience but of empathy, which is the capacity to perceive emotions in others and so react to them appropriately."

Wrong! The land is yours. Its called an easement which gives certain organizations - like the power company - the right to access that land.

If only it was rent free. There is a significant toll.

People are people, and uncourteous behavior is certainly not limited to The Villages. One must be careful though not to interpret a behavior as rude when we may not entirely understand the circumstances, or when it may merely reflect values different from ours.

Most of us come from places where the folkways are quite different from those in Florida, or are quite different from the Villagers from other parts of the country (or even the world, as there are quite a few foreigners living in The Villages). Some of us are offended or even taken aback by friendly greetings from strangers. The opposite is also true if we offer a smile, a wave or a greeting and it is pointedly ignored. The are dozens, probably hundreds, of such examples. We may also do things completely unintentionally; things we do every day, that may offend or irritate others whose folkways may be different from ours. That particular road runs both ways. The Villages, more so than most other parts of America, is a melting pot.

I have to remind myself from time to time that the world doesn't revolve around me.

The older I get the more I understand why roosters just scream to start their day.

You state you lived in Worcester for 52 years. I find it hard to believe you are troubled by people here, it’s not exclusive to TV.

When I entered the golf cart roundabout there was a woman walking in the middle of the path taking her time while taking pictures. This was impeding the flow of traffic on the roundabout. Some were beeping their horns and she looked back not caring.

2) There is a guy in Hawkins that walks his dog daily around a pond where houses are . Most of these houses are occupied. The guy walking his dog... set back property lines make the area around ponds no homeowner's concern relative to people chosing where to walk. At least its not an RV garage 5' away from your property line. Perhaps that is what the lady in the cart path was photographing (?) as no one had control over that being built in between two houses. If she was in the roundabout first it was her right to stop and take a picture and cart obligation to either wait or safely pass. On person's right's end where another's begins. Things are not always what they seem; but ToTV is a very good place to vent.

I live on a pond and the area around the pond doesn't belong to me so I am cool with people exploring the pond and exploring nature. Most people that walk around the pond have homes around the pond. A large portion of our trails are multi modal paths namely El Camino Real. I have been yelled at, finger pointing, and head shaking when I walk on the trail even though it is a multipurpose trail (carts, walkers, joggers, bikes, etc.). I am very respectful and mindful too and walk on the grass when a cart comes by. It doesn't stop people from being angry with me. Just saying...
