Default Community Demographics

Recently in a post I saw a reference to the fact that some communities have a higher percent of non full time residents than others. I'm concerned about finding my dream home only to find I have no neighbors (or only renters) most of the time. Of course I know there are plently of opportunities to meet other people, but being part of the stable neighborhood is important to me also. My TV realtor mentioned that Villas have more non full time residents and more singles - which makes sense since they are smaller and maintenance free. But are there other communities that have more non fill time residents?

The newer ones will have more snowbirds for a few years.

And the newer ones are;

Amelia
Hadley
Bonita
Hemingway
St.Charles
Pennecamp
Buttonwood

For instance, our street on Hadley (2 years old) ...of ten contiguous designer homes on our street there are eight out of 13 full time residents.

I think this is typical.

What do the rest of you think?

Default If you can't find it, make it

More established neighborhoods will have less vacant houses. Your older neighborhoods will also have more established clubs and groups. But, here in The Villages, if you can't find it...just make it. If your street doesn't have a social group...start one. If the guys in your neighborhood don't have a golf group...start one. And if you do get in a newer neighborhood where not everyone has retired or moved down yet...it won't be long and then you can be the welcome wagon.
