Default Free Spell Checker

Does everyone know that there is a free spell checker provided on this forum?

Click on Reply. Click on the ABCcheckmark in the upper right hand corner. Click on OK. Download and Install IeSpell. Shutdown all IE windows and restart IE. Click on Tools on the IE task bar and click in IeSpell Options to configure it for your use.

Bring up TOTV and do a reply. Do a right click and click on IeSpell to check the spelling.

During the first reply you will get a request to download an active X control. Click okay. Before you click OK save what you were typing because it will go bye-bye.

It can then be used as a spell check on all internet sites. I use it all the time.

Per Russ's post, Firefox has a spell checker built in.

You think you get flamed for an error in English, try saying something positive about our current President. You will be stripped of all that is holy.

I was corrected the other day on my punctuation. Instead of lashing back I sent a PM to the offender asking her to please "do not correct me in public." She did not have the courtesy to PM me back.

Now that is a good idea.

Just to let others know to be careful who you tell who you support.

Supporting the current President on this board can get you in big trouble.

That is why you have to join political. Another reason is to keep it out of these threads.

Pat, I did join that forum for three days. I was told real quick to get out and die. I had to log out to let my wounds heal. If you disagree in that forum, they come at you 5 or 6 strong and beat ya like a rabid skunk.

If your posts seem to draw an unwelcome response in "political," then they will be that ten fold out here on the streets.

I first met some dear friends in TV on TOTV. TOTV is a friendly, warm and welcoming place. Administrators Talk Host and Tony do an admirable job of monitoring and disallowing meanness. Although it might be hard sometimes to draw the line, very rarely, except in the political thread, will you find anyone, to use ewwiseenbach's phrase, being "insulting or dismissive" of other people and/or their opinions. However, you won't even see that forum unless you "opt in". Even if you opt in, you don't have to post there. It is the only place on TOTV where alligator hide is needed.

If syntax is your concern, 99.9 percent of us don't care about your grammar and spelling, but do care to welcome you, help out if we can and seek out your thoughts and advice when you have them to share.

Give us a try, ok? We'd love to hear from you. Please feel welcome here.

I am sorry to hear that you were badly treated but I don't have the courage to go to Political much. It seems that except for a few considered posters there is a lot of bashing going on there. I think it only fair to warn any future residents that The Villages is LARGELY Republican.

There is another moderate who lives here (I am not sure if she is a Democrat or a Republican). I ran into her at the recent TV luncheon at Crispers.

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen and out of the political forum. Boy Howdy!!

I have noticed alot of digs aimed at the political forum. Has anybody who has thrown these daggers ever visited another political forum on any other site ?

I have participated on a few political forums on other sites and I can honestly say that this political forum on TOTV is the most civil I have ever had the pleasure to visit.
I just wanted to say this because I have not seen many posts coming to the defense of political.

Default That's true that the shark tank is a rather inactive one here on TOTV.

There is not a great deal of blood in the water on TOTV in all its forums when compared with many of the other message boards on the web. You do need though to be prepared for a few bites from the fish if you wander on the political forum on TOTV and start defending various Democratic politicians.
