Do you think they don't know their dogs are barkers? Really! Fact is they never trained the dogs and spoiled them by encouraging the barking instead of stopping it. Dog training 101! So, you might try speaking to them but the truth is they have no respect for others and only want a solution that suits their needs. Cynical? Yes, but most likely you need help from authorities. Good Luck!

Leave a note on their garrage door and your phone number. Let them know what's happening in the note. If you get no response then call the authorities. The police - make sure when you call them the dogs are barking. If they come and they are not barking they will do nothing. Good luck. There is no reason you should have to put up with that - their problems are not yours. They need to either get rid of the dogs or take care of the problem!

It is my experience that the dog owner who constantly allows their dog to bark is not going to be logical if you try to speak with them about it. They will be defensive and you will create a war. After all, their dog has rights and he needs to bark, it is their nature. That is how they think, so, believe me, not worth approaching them. Just call animal control. Perhaps they will respect a fine more than their neighbors

They are not going to die. Good grief, dogs and wolves lives for thousands of years before air conditioning. The coyotes survive in the Villages and I'm pretty sure no one is bringing them in their air conditioned homes all day. A lanai is not like a closed car. A barking dog would drive me crazy, and I have dogs. I hope the new people read this and do something about their dogs.

You could take the approach that they don't know their dogs bark all day... tell them you're concerned that the dogs are frightened or upset since they bark nonstop. Perhaps relate an anecdote like someone in your house was sick and couldn't sleep because of the barking and you thought they should know. Give them (neighbors--not dogs) a chance to save face. Maybe they'll take the hint? Good luck. This would drive me crazy!

Oh this is so sad, to leave the doggies out on the lanai in this heat is so disturbing.

Please let us know how you handled this situation and thank goodness you are there to help remedy the thoughtlessness.

We had the same problem a few years ago when the house behind us was being rented. (So glad when it sold..great neighbors now.) Talking to them was TOTALLY a waste of time. (Redwitch knows who I am talking about.) Those dogs barked from about 5 in the morning to well after midnight. We could not even sit on our own lanai and have a conversation! They barked non-stop even in the house and you could hear them then, as well. I guess the property manager finally got enough complaints (mine included) that they were asked to leave. The kicker was that there was someone home all day and made no effort to correct the problem.

We love dogs and most of our neighbors have them. We did have two when we moved here, but they both passed on of old age. Now, we just get to love our neighbors' dogs.

Unhappy Dogs barking

I'm glad to see someone else is having the same problem with the barking dogs.

Default Dogs

If the dogs are new also. They are unfamiliar with their surroundings, missing the owners or afraid. If owners are unaware the sign should be enough for responsible pet owners. Good luck

It's a state law in Florida that it is illegal to leave your dogs unattended outside in the heat. They are probably hotter than h-ll! Call the ASPCA or the pound on them . It is inhumane treatment to leave a dog outside here in Florida.

I agree! It's very inconsiderate of these dogs owners to make neighbors listen to their pets all day yapping. Don't know why they don't put them in their laundry room. I guess they don't like their pets pooping or peeing in their laundry rooms as much as their neighbors don't like hearing them yap all day while they're gone! I think pet owners really think it's their right to put them their because it's on their property & they don't have to listen to them all day! Good question, DIAMOND2005!

I truly like dogs. But, perhaps, like grand kids it is great to spoil them and then send them HOME.

Do they not know the dogs are barking. I doubt it.
Do they care that the dogs are a bother. Either they do not care or for now they have no choice-illness-death or????

There are ultrasound devices that are supposed to control such annoying dogs. I tried on years ago. It was ?????? about $40.00 and it was totally ineffective.

I'm sure I will get all kinds of hostile reply's from dog owners. Before you send them-why don't your offer to help the original poster and solve the problem dog owner to dog owner.
I bought an ultrasonic device recently on Amazon that works wonders! It was $23 which included prime shipping. I also ordered it for two friends and they love it too!
