It was inconvenient for us since we had cleared our schedules for this service, but I agreed for them to come the following day between 8-11 am. At noon I called them to ask where they were. I called Costco Customer service. The rep said it was unfortunate but the notes from Elite said that I had a conflict so they rescheduled to Monday! This was a lie and definitely CYA. Now, we have been without a stove for over a week and now another 5 day delay. I asked the Costco rep if I could be placed in priority and get the job done tomorrow. Nope. Unfortunately scheduling problems come up and they can't change the schedule. Note that Elite changed the schedule as convenient for them, but for me it was unfortunate. Sorry. Too bad for us.(she didn't say that last bit.)
I'm guessing that Elite is the install company for this general area, so just a note of caution for all you Costco fans. Actually I am still a Costco fan, but I feel this was wrong and they could have done more to make it right, but, tsk tsk, it was just "unfortunate". If I knew of other places to to post this I would.
OK, I know this was long and boring, but I feel better now.
Don't be sorry for warning us of very unprofessional behavior. I rely on such info for future decisions. Sorry you had to go through that.

If available, I prefer texting or using chat on website to have the chat transcript sent to my email. That way you always have a written copy of all that has been agreed on.

Good luck for a fast remedying of this situation.

Default Costco For Televisions

We haven't bought appliances from Costco; however, we have bought at least 6 TVs. Costco's prices and delivery service cannot be beat. Their warranty is so good as to be unbelievable. One of our sets failed. I returned it to Costco, which made a full refund of the price we paid two years earlier. We replaced it with a newer/larger model whose price was less than the amount we were refunded!

It was slightly embarrassing to return a 2 year old TV and then walk out of the store with a new one and cash (store credit) in my pocket.

In contrast, a TV we purchased at Best Buy failed one week after one year from the date of purchase, but within one year of when it was first put in service. Best Buy denied our claim and I had to use the warranty supplied by VISA, whose credit card was used for the purchase. While it was a hassle to collect, the warranty is the reason to always buy appliances and TVs with a credit card.

I have virtually furnished my home thru Costco when we moved from out of state. But appliances I found great discount deals thru the local Lowe's and install service was excellent. As most know the Samsung appliances furnished in the original purchase of these homes just don't last!

Communication was great, install was great and we are happy and saved quite a bit.
Maybe your install was the scheduling conflict for the OP's original install...

I recently had the only issue with Costco that in about 40 years, I've ever had. I have loved Costco from the moment I joined and so was quite surprised at what just happened to me.

I ordered tires online and then set up an appointment at the new one here to have them installed. Everything went perfect, I paid after installation and saved a lot of money.

Over two weeks after the installation, I received an email that said my tires were being "shipped." Then I see that the online folks charged me again, for tires that had been installed weeks previously. Say what?!

A long story short, I talked to corporate and they told me to challenge one of the charges with my bank (the one from the store, which was actually $21 more than what the online charged). The lady on the phone said she did not even see me being charged for the one that was $21 more from the store.

It's now squared away, with lots of callbacks from corporate (appreciated), but I found out something interesting. The corporate/online group does not have access to in-person store sales! Say what?! Hopefully someone will find this info useful and not get caught like I was.

A positive story is that more than 2 years after buying, one of the stores in Orlando was writing up the full refund for an electric power washer as I was walking in the door! The guy at returns said he recognized it and had done it several times before. After a quick return, even without a receipt (they looked it up), low and behold they were now selling the exact model that Consumer's Report was recommending, was a little less expensive and that I was looking for.

THAT was a great day. LOL

Imo all you can do give the 3rd party installer bad review after their done. With enough bad reviews maybe costco will go with more reliable installers?
reminds me of a person i once met. He bought a mansion in forest hills queens circa 1890. That's when gas lighting was the rage. He decided to buy a gas dryer and install it himself. He opens up a valve to supply the dryer and he was very proud of himself. Unbeknownst to him that valve also opened up the former gas lighting in every room throughout his mansion. The local gas company arrived in time to save him from himself.

We purchased kitchen appliances from Lowes and their delivery sub contractor did us the exact same way. Even used the same excuse when they did not show up.

Same for me if I wasn't able to DIY the hookup.

Did you call Elite and ask to speak to a supervisor or manager and explain your circumstance? You could write a nice letter to the COSTCO Dept manager? Did you ask to speak to a COSTCo manager?

Just throwing some ideas around.

But, this company lied in their report. There is no excusing a lack of integrity.
RE: Samsung microwave.
It is surprising what you can find on the internet. We have whirlpool. The platen stopped rotating. It is a micro motor. HUH Amazon sells the part. If I recall it cost like twelve dollars. Like six videos on how to put it in.
Thanks to the internet. Whatever the problem is someone else has had the problem and a solution.
