I just bought a Grantham in Montbrook Villas-Tamarind Grove...1 1/2 garage. Hubby says he thinks we can get a car and two carts in there. I believe there a two CYV with two car garages at the end of Arbordale in same neighborhood. I do not know what models they are but both look like they have two car garages. Check it out.

There will be very limited guest parking within your neighborhood compound, but we aren't allowed to claim and use it personally as additional garage space, and permanent on the street parking is not allowed.(It is a hazard)

Most everyone will offer suggestions on how they make the garage space work for them. I won't go through all that, except to say that things fit better than we thought they would.

What DID help before we even bought in TV, was to tape off the CYV garage measurements inside our existing garage up north.(From the model that we liked the best.) Having that visual helped us, not only to decide what we could function with as to vehicles, but also realize quickly what "stuff" HAD to be eliminated, and not dragged along. Basically, helped to let us wrap our heads around the whole garage concept and gave us time to think.

In the end, we chose a CYV because we really WANTED to downsize, live a simpler lifestyle, and have uncluttered surroundings. That's not heaven to everyone, but has been liberating to us. I found that we have adapted painlessly, and so far we don't miss anything we let go of.
That said, my hubby still has a motorcycle, air compressor, big ladder and tools.... just not thousands of them. We house the car and golf car too. (but our laundry is INSIDE.)
It really was great to eliminate BEFORE we moved.
If you come down on a lifestyle visit, you'll know SO much, that your choice will be easy. Listen to your gut. You'll make the choices perfect for you.
(and I just realized this topic is not a brand new post.... sorry!)
Great idea about taping off the measurements before you move. Plus, there are all kinds of garage storage systems out there (we are using mostly the Rubbermaid strips and hooks). Stop at houses/villas where someone is puttering around in their open garage and strike up a conversation if it looks like a well-organized garage. Most people are happy and proud to show it off.

I think you might be incorrect about parking 2 cars in the driveway, though. I believe we've had 2 cars park in our driveway, just wouldn't want to do it all the time, impossible to get the golf carts out.

We have a Woodlawn which is now called a Durham. I had to trade my Hyundai Santa Fe for a Mazda 3 Hatchback. With
my Yamaha golf cart there is barely enough room for me to get into the car to back out of the garage. Very little space in a Woodlawn, having the washer and dryer in the garage doesn't help.

After three years, we regretfully sold our CYV and bought a house with a huge extended garage. Our CYV garage was small plus it housed the laundry facilities. We could stuff in a car, golf cart and motorcycle, but there wasn't enough room to walk around. We found it was way too complicated to try to fit all our stuff in a small garage. (We have a SUV, motorcycle, golf cart, bicycles, lawn supplies, roller blades, archery equipment, etc).

There are some CYVs with two-car garages but they are rare. We couldn't find one on a golf course with water view. CYVs are great and many people wish they had larger garages.

Default CYV garages

Will the Courtyard Villas fit a Buick Regal and a golf cart? Thanks! We will be moving there and are not sure if our car will fit in with a golf cart.

We have a Toyota Sienna van and it fits, along with our golf cart. Now, unless we park the van in there just right, I have to fold in the passenger mirror to get to my washer and dryer! Before the van we had a big Cadillac in there. I think your Regal should fit, no problem.

Should work o.k. though the bigger the car, the less space you're going to have for your "stuff" in the garage. Best to check the garage dimensions of the specific CYV model(s) you're considering before you pull the trigger on buying something.

Hope that helps!!! And welcome to TOTV!!

Default I have the Bonita model with inside laundry,

my big Toyota 4Runner fits in the garage and a Tomerlin golf cart. I still have walking space between the two. IF, if, the a/c was not on the inside
wall I could have fit two golf carts and the 4 Runner. However, there is a post installed so the golf cart won't go forward hitting the a/c. Had the
a/c been on the back wall easy peasy for 2 golf carts and the 'truck'.
I still must have six or 8 feet in front of the 4Runner where I have boxes,
tools, lawn equipment. Seems very large, BUT I still have to do some cautious driving when getting the cart out with the car parked inside.
Good luck. Wouldn't trade my 3/2 Bonita for anything, it has worked well
for everything I brought with me to TV. If I put in attic stairs I will have
lots more room in the garage, but so far it's all good.

We have the post and the inside a/c-furnace and just drive the deepest golf cart to the side of the post and about 2 feet from the back of the garage (we have a narrow workbench in front of the wall). Both are carts are electric Club Cars, and the chargers are interchangeable (a fortunate accident). With our small car (Honda Fit) we still have room to get into both golf carts and the driver's door of the car, and if the car is parked where the passenger door opens between the carts, can even get in the car from the passenger side.

Some of the new villas I have seen have eliminated the post (which I think is there to keep you from running into the furnace), probably a cost savings. You could remove the post (and put a tire or something for safety in front of the furnace, but further over) and probably be able to pull the cart in a little closer to the wall to have a 2nd cart work for you.
