Last night a coyote ran across Buena Vista Blvd. We were headed north from Lake Miona. It was about 9 p.m. We have never seen one here before and wonder if this is an isolated incidence.

Anywhere from 'several' to 'a lot'. Then there are 6 packs and 12 packs and 24 to a pack of cigs.

From wikipedia:
"Though coyotes have been observed to travel in large groups, they primarily hunt in pairs. Typical packs consist of six closely related adults, yearlings and young."

I thought so: 6 pack.
