A massive transformation is underway at the southern gateway to The Villages. In this drone tour, we fly over the rapidly expanding Legacy Place development, a planned 700-acre mixed-use project stretching nearly three miles along Florida’s Turnpike. We’ll look at the massive land clearing, the widening of CR470 over the turnpike, new roads, retaining walls, borrow pits, connections to County Road 470, Central Parkway and Eastport, and the planned 80-bed AdventHealth hospital. With millions of square feet of future retail, restaurants, businesses and services planned, this area is about to look dramatically different, and we’ll also examine the road improvements that may be needed to handle all of this growth.
