I could use one more ticket if anyone has an extra to spare.

Did they give that many away....or just create that many? Just curious...

Thumbs up Sarah Palin

No doubt, there will be a huge turnout to see Sarah Palin, presumably mostly Republicans, but I'm sure also some Dems. I'd love to be in TV to see her! Tickets seem to be in short supply. Palin is the "Woman of the Week" right now. I think everyone will be impressed.

But wait .... wasn't Obama the "bright and shiny new kid on the block" not so long ago.? Talking about change and new beginnings? He is also very impressive.

When the glitz and glitter dry away, the maturity and wisdom of McCain and Biden may turn out to be very important.

Default Unbelievable

First, I want to apologize if this sounds crass as I surely don't mean it to be.
That being said, do some of you folks live in a cave without a radio,TV or newspaper service?
How could anyone not have read in the paper, heard on the radio or on the TV about Palin coming to the V on Sunday?
And to set the record straight, my wife and her freind WERE the first ones at the Landing yesterday. They were there at 3AM. No one else arrived until around 5am.
Again apologies handed out, I just can't believe anyone could ask what was going on yesterday morning with the media reporting for days. Sorry!!

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

Be a gentleman, remove your hat/cap when entering a building and dining out!

Jerry, I knew she was speaking on Sunday but did not know tickets were required. I'm in a rental without the Daily Sun delivery.

I thought it was an open forum and assumed one had to get there early if they wanted a good seat. I just happen to see this post yesterday which promoted my question.

I'm sure I'm not alone in not knowing the details of Palin's visit.

Jerry....not everyone on TOTV's is living here in TV's right now....so it goes without saying that if someone is not here they would not have the paper, VNN or the radio station...therefore would not have known about the Palin activity.

Should have been held at the Polo grounds. There is no way that 18,000 to 20,000 will get within seeing distance of the gazebo. There are big screen TV's but I could watch TV from home. We are still going to go but not sure we will see anything but a large crowd. We went to LSL last night to check it out and looks like lots of others did too. We then went over to the lounge at Waterfront Inn to see if we could see any celebraties. Did not recognize anyone but there were a lot of people there and the server thought they were at about or at 100 % occupancy. When Bush was here the square had fewer commercial buildings and young trees that they could remove and replace later so there was as lot of room. Does not look good for going to LSL today.

If I had to do it again, I would stay home. After waiting on line for 1 hr. 45 min. (pretty much 2 people abreast), we approached where you were let in for security check only to find people simply walking up and squeezing in line in front of us. When I mentioned this to the cop, she said, "oh, stop complaining and come in". All they had to do for that 1/2 block before security was to install two barriers for us to go through like they do at at the amusement parks. Problem solved. After getting on the square (where no tickets were required), we couldn't see her in person anyhow, only on the big screen.

What a waste of time,60000 people?,there are only 70000 in the villages.
20000 is a more reasonable number

It is quite possible that the person asking is a snowbird that has not been to TV since spring. Amazingly enough, the rest of the world doesn't pay constant attention to what goes on down here TV. If you weren't here full time, you might not know what was happening.

The young couple in line in front of us was from Gainesville and the couple behind us drove up from Port Richie. In chatting with people close to us in line, none were from TV. Unlike ours, the tickets they had were like a #10 size envelope. As it turned out, you didn't need them anyway. There were many people there with small children and a lot of 20, 30 somethings. I wonder if the 60,000 was an accurate guesstimate.
