Default TV Residents & Vehicles

This is mainly targeted at "Full-timer Couples" in TV as well as those in other 55+ communities.

Now that we are retired, we put fewer miles on our cars each year.

My question:

When you relocated to FL, and began using a Golf Cart for some amount of transportation in the community, did you decide to downsize the number of cars to 1 vehicle?

YES! We have one car, the golf cart, and a 50CC scooter that my hubs uses to get around to his activities, unless it's raining, in which case we fight over the cart. Some weeks the car barely gets used.

We have one car but we do not use our golf cart as a second vehicle. I'll use it for golf and twice a week to make a quick stop at the store which also occasionally includes filling the tank

One car and one cart ............. and I hate having one car. It seems that whenever I want the car it is not available. To the wife, do not get rid of your car, you will want it. Suggest you keep both cars and get a cart and see who uses what and then make changes.

Yeah, we are the same way. We have no desire for a golf cart.

I am just doing some homework and pondering future decisions. Trying to figure out what might "strike the right balance".

My question could have two implications; The type of home (i.e., garage space) along with the amount and type of "Rolling Stock" we might maintain.

This subject came up briefly once when we moved here. There was a suggestion that we could get by with one car. No Way, Jose!

Good Question to ask..................Just ignore the negative posters on this forum.

Right now, we have two carts, two cars (one convertible) and one Harley. That being said, you should consider your toys and storage. We will be eliminating a car, but I don't think I will regret the extra space.

Keep asking questions.
