Default Dabney resort pool?

In another thread someone had a post that said something like “Dabney will have the only adult resort pool in the Villages”. What do they mean by resort pool? Just a bigger pool? Wondering because as a lake Denham owner Dabney will be our closest adult pool. There is no neighborhood pool in lake Denham. Only the rec centers.

Our salesperson said the pool was an Adult Pool, I'd ignore the "resort" label. There are lots of adult pools throughout TV.

A "resort-style" pool, in the local vernacular, refers to a pool that is not rectangular, typically with what I would call cloverleafs.

Thanks. That was what confused me since there are plenty of these curvy shaped adult pools.

Yes, that is correct. South of route 44, most adult pools are "curvy shaped" like the ones in St. Cats and Citrus Grove.

The resort styled pools like Fenney, Homestead, and the new one in Franklin are all family pools.

If the new resort style pool in Dabney is an adult pool, I wonder if it will be deeper than the shallow resort style family pools.

Just a fancy name for a pool with added features such as a walk in pool, rock landscaping, waterfalls, etc…. In my book, if it’s not a 25 yard long rectangular pool with swim lanes and flags it’s worthless.

I believe all the rectangular pools are sports pools.

Look at ADULT pool or FAMILY pool (sports pool too, but adult and family are where you would lounge).
No one under 30 allowed at adult pool.

Resort style is the shape of the pool, usually vs a rectangle.

Neighborhood pools are rectangular in my neck of the woods near Lake Sumter Landing. Our neighborhood pools are for adults only.

I do believe, as pointed out above that the term 'resort' when describing a pool in TV now has come to mean a zero entry pool (no steps-only a gradual incline to enter). Whether we think that determines the adjective 'resort' or not is a moot point-I think that's the descriptor. (Like Fenney)

I believe EVERY pool in The Villages is a walk-in pool.

Actually, the majority of the pools in TV have steps (or ladders), so are not technically a 'walk-in' pool at all. Those have inclines that allow you to walk straight into full depth, not via stairs.

Regardless of the shape or what you call it. The non residents will enjoy it same as the other pools in the Villages.

Two things - the other post was written by another member here and not TV. Second, they likely meant "in the area" of West Lake.

Seems likely they meant a zero entry (walk in) pool. I pretty much knew all the answers you guys gave. That post had me thinking maybe there was something new I hadn’t heard.
