I have had my resident Villages ID checked much more frequently lately at all the resident amenities facilities, including the pools.

Does anyone know for a fact whether they are 25 feet or meters?
Mulberry is most definitely 25 yards, as it hosts the annual Villages Senior Games swimming, which is sanctioned by US Masters Swimming and the pool length is certified.

Family pools (kids friendly) are also curvey. Rile of thumb is, if there's a Rec Center there, it's a family pool.

Well, if you live in the Villages of Briar Meadow, Woodbury, Piedmont, Belle Aire, Glenbrook, Alhambra or Santo Domingo you don't have a neighborhood pool OR a neighborhood recreation center either. To me, that MIGHT be the ONLY advantage of a purchase below 466 - but we have considerably better access to shopping and dining. Our neighborhoods have much more attractive, mature landscaping. In addition, a considerable percentage of homes have upgraded kitchens and baths. Loving it more each day (after more than 13 years)! I stated when we moved in that the only way that I will EVER move again is in a wooden box....

During "combo swim", a walker can reserve a swim lane? I did not know that. Actually, I did not know any lanes can be reserved.....even swim lanes can be reserved?

Thanks for clearing that up. Wait? I don’t recall asking anything about why north is better than south.

All the kitchens in the south are updated. They were built that way.

Attractive is a matter of opinion. I find the many open green spaces in the south much more attractive.

We love it down here.

I am flexible and not closed to making a move and a new adventure.

The amenities are a great selling point for most home buyers. As we all eventually learn, many are not available. There are too many residents wanting to do the same activities at the same time, some are closed because they cannot take any more members, and others you have to show up an hour early to get a spot. I rotate my schedule and am happy with doing whatever is open. Avoiding the crowds is a chore, but I have learned to deal with it.

I didn’t know this either. I also wasn’t sure what “combo swim” meant. Is it swimming and/or walking laps? Have never used a sports pool yet.

During "combo swim", half the pool is sectioned off into swim lanes using floating dividers. The other half of the pool is open with no dividers, for walkers.

I just now checked The Villages website regarding reserving a swim lane to walk in. There is no such designation regarding "reserving" a lane for walking or swimming, In fact, I learned something I did not know............"If space is available and lap lanes are full, the open swim area may be used for lap swimming". I have always waited for a swim lane to open up as that was what I was told when I first started swimming in the Sport's pools. Nice to know it is OK if I swim in the open part of the pool as long as space is available.

466 is now the "North/South" dividing line? LOL!

I lived by the Nancy Lopez Golf Course for many years. Now, I live in the southern area to be closer to family and friends. You are not missing much down here. The amenities and pools are usually full. You have to plan your day around the crowds. Even then, you may still have to wait or miss out completely. There aren't many places to shop but I believe that will change.
